Bartholin Cyst

babicat

Hi Ladies,

I recently got a bartholin cyst and was wondering if anyone has experienced this and has any good advice.

Just to let you know I refuse to have the surgical procedure called marsupialization done. I have been doing sitz baths a few times a day and using a heating pad over top of clothing.

It has been over a week and still not gone.

thank you!

TY Babicat...

Babicat,
I would love to hear more about what homeopathy treatment you might be taking. I've tried everything on all of these forums - from Silica to indian clay to Colloidal Silver to Tea Tree Oil and Witch Hazel. I'm desperate. I've seen all the horror stories on these Bartholin forums and I've done the I/D procedure. I refuse to undergo marsupilization. Sounds like a procedure fit for a kangaroo!

If you have any homeopathic remedies you'd recommend, please share!

Hi Bannethorn

Homeopathy is very specific to each person in terms of what they prescribe. So that is probably why Silicea might not of worked for you. The amount of sprays you take, the duration you take it for is important. I am currently taking Silicea 200ch in addition to 8 other homeopathic medicines. Last month I was taking 9 different homeopathic medicines. The reason is because the doctor wanted to first kill any potential of infection present. So she did that for 28 days before putting me on the silicea round (which i'm currently on now). The days I took Silicea and Hepr sulf I was in so much pain. And I noticed a few days later other cysts popping up (which I described above). So what I'm trying to tell you is find a homeopathic doctor in your area and he/she will go over everything in your life. Your temperment, your body etc and then they decide which medicines to give you. I think they will definitely give you Belladona, Hepr Sulf, Mer Sol, Silicea. These are all for glands and cysts. It is incredible I'm slowly seeing my hormones correct themselves too, my last period was not as painful in terms of cramps. The medicines help your overall body. I'm very impressed so far.

My moms cousin is a gyno so I initially spoke to her when I got the bartholin cyst in desperation to find out what to do. Immediately she told me marsupialization is the answer, and at the very least get it drained and have a word cather put in. I'm glad I had the common sense to do a lot of research before being stupid enough to do this. The amount of pain that women have gone through only to have the stupid cyst come back, if not soon then within the year. Also women that have had the marsupialization claim that they are no longer able to be lubricated properly during s*x and as a result are under going stress and depression.

Today my cyst ladies is the size of a "pea" it has reduced from the size of a large cherry. I am so happy to announce this. I'm still taking my homeopathic medicines 3 times a day (morning, afternoon, evening) 14 sprays each time.

In terms of what you took above let me explain to you. The silicea again I'm not sure what dosage you took and if it was a homeopathic solution. Healthfood stores sell silicea too and it isn't the same kind. Tea tree oil is an antibacterial oil. So at the best case it might kill any infection or prevent one, so maybe you wont get an absess but it definitely will not help with draining the cyst or cause it to burst. Witch Hazel reduces inflammation, the cyst is not inflammation. Witch hazel is effective for hemroids as it can shink the vein (i know gross sorry) but it wont help with shrinking a cyst. The reason is because you need to shrink the cyst from the inside out. Your body has to almost fight it from the inside out. This is why simply extracting the cyst, cutting it, manually having it drained will not solve the cyst problem long term. It will only creep up again because the body hasn't gotten rid of the cyst from the inside out.

Anyway this post is really long. Let me know if you have more questions. I'm happy to help you. And really really hope this homeopathy FULLY works for me so I can share the great news with everyone and stop women from going through these barbaric surgical procedures.

Help!

I am 23 years old and dealing with my first Bartholin Cyst. About two months ago I noticed a large lump and immediately went to my general physician. She diagnosed me with a Bartholin Cyst. After two weeks of anitbiotics, the cyst significantly decreased in size, but was still significantly painful. Eventually, I decided to have my gyno take a look. He informed me that while the cyst was big enough to cause significant pain, it was not big enough to drain with a catheter or perform a marsupialization. So, my options were to take sitz baths, hot towel compresses and wait . . . wait for the cyst to increase in size or go away on its own.

Unfortunately, the cyst has slowly increased in size (still not big enough to do anything about) and as you can imagine it has become more painful as well. I am at a loss. I have tried stiz, baths, hot compresses, epsom salts, homeopathic creams, exercise, etc. and nothing has helped. I am in so uncomfortable the doctor has prescribed pain killers (which have made me constantly drowsy).

Does anyone have any suggestions? Obviously I would rather the cyst naturally subside on its own, however I am desperate enough to make it larger at this point.

Thank you!

Hi cc1021,
Babicat here. You have to continue with the hot baths and compresses. I would also suggest a streamroom or sauna if you have access to one at maybe even your gym. The more you "sweat it out" the best for the blocked gland.

i'm not sure what homeopathic creams are. They need to be in pellets or liquid form and you need to see a homeopathic practionner for it. It will help you and work if you want to do it naturally. Try to look for a doctor of homeopathy in your area. Main things to take are Silicea and Heph Sulf the others homeo meds will be prescribed as per your situation.

If it is painful that means it is probably infected, is it an absess? If it is infected the homeopathic doctor will clear the infection first (1 month) and then treat the cyst during the 2nd month. Be prepared that this is not a short fix, homeopathy takes time. I've been on it since Jan 2nd week and I haven't yet gotten rid of it but im getting close.

Surgery is a bad option. I talked to my grandma and she mentioned that when you cut a cyst it usually COMES BACK. So treating it with homeopathy will get rid of it for GOOD. As you know many women who do surgery or have it drained have it return in a matter of time (months to years everyone is different).

I hope this helps you.

sorry for the extra part

Ladies ignore the part of my message that goes "unfortunately, the cyst has slowly...." that is a cut and paste from cc1021s original message.

I'm at work so I'm pulling stunts to write on this hehe.

Hi Wadina and others....

Hi Ladies,

Just updating you on homeopathy and that it works. Yes I took Silicea in addition to a few other homeopathic solutions. I took it in liquid form but homeopathy can be taken in pellets too and dissolved under your tongue.

Wadina - I suggest if you can afford it or if you can get it covered under any extended health care benefits that you find a good homeopathic doctor in your area. Prepare yourself for the fact that it takes some time.. Mine took 4 months. But for others it has been as quick as 1 month. It will definitely go though trust in that.

I know how depressed you feel. I went through hell and back. Not only did I go through the cyst but I moved with my hubby to a new city where I was away from family and friends. I was extremely depressed. If there is anything else I can help you with just post back on this. But please try the suggestions on this thread. The HOT baths (as time consuming as they are), hot towel compress, silicea and homeopathy in general.

Oh BTW

Wadina:

When you take the homeopathic silicea make sure you do that hot baths and hot towel compresses too. You can add yarrow root (dry herb) to the bath water. I don't suggest epsom salt because it might further CLOG that gland.

You have to take 2 sitz baths at the minimum per day. Either sitz bath over the toilet or hot as you can handle bath in the tub with water that covers you upto your hips.

The silicea helps the gland drain but you need to get as much HEAT on it as possible. I took a steam bath or a sauna at my gym whenever possible too.

Eat clean food, don't eat fried food. Try to eat plenty of fruits, veggies, salads and drink more water than you usually do. YOu basically need to FLUSH it.
