Chicken Skin

All of my life I have had this problem on my upper arms. Little red bumps that look like the pore is inflamed. One day I noticed that many of my friends and family members have the same problem but never thought too much of it. I looked it up and it is sometimes called chicken skin. I mean its not gross and it doesnt get worse but its there and its been there and it bothers me. I don't like it i want it gone lol. Any advice? Thanks Ladies!!!

Feisty Redhead

two things...

Exfoliate and moisturize like mad. lol No really, daily exfoliating and moisturizing should help clear it up. I've also found that a good daily rubdown with some witch hazel helps. :)

I agree

Buy a loofah and scrub in the shower daily...mine is almost gone after 2 weeks of doing this.

On a side note - I have an allergy to aspartame and the bumps get worse when I drink or eat anything sweetened with aspartame. Since switching to stevia, mine are also much better.

I had a boyfriend who had this. It seems his bumps stemmed from dry skin. When he made a pointed effort to keep his upper arms moisturized, it helped; though, it never went away completely. Perhaps the element he was missing was the exfoliation.

chicken thighs

I have this on my upper thighs and hips. Exfoliation and moisturizing has made all the difference! I used to only put lotion or oils on but it wasn't nearly enough. the trick really is to get in there with a loofah, and do it every time you shower. Sometimes I get lazy and stop for a few weeks and it always comes back :(

So I tried everything that was suggested and it really works!!!! its been about a week and its almost gone!!!! You have to do it everyday though or it will definitely start to come back. I love touching my arms now and seeing how good they look. I am also not embarrased when my guy rubs my arms. Thank You so much for all of the suggestions!!!!!

That's great!

I found that when I began, I had to exfoliate everyday for about 2 weeks. After a while, I didn't need to quite as often - probably 2 or 3 times per week. But you do have to keep up with it! I have been "chicken-skin" free for a few months and it has made all the difference! Baby soft skin....ahhhhhhh!

And of course, always moisturize after exfoliating. But you probably knew that.
