I keep hearing talking about fit bits. They seem to live their watches that calculate their steps I guess???
Does anyone here own one? Love it, like it? How often do you use it? Are they expensive? Worth it?
My sisters birthday is coming up and she's pretty healthy.
Was thinking of getting her one.

I have the Fitbit Flex (the most basic of the fitbits) It's basically just a pedometer that you wear on your wrist. But you can challenge friends who also have them and compete in little challenges. There's also an alarm function (my wrist vibrates when it's time to get up.)
I loooove the sleep function. It shows how much sleep I got, how many times restless, and awake.
It was a round $100 a year ago.

I have a fitbit charge. While yes at first I loved it when I got it almost a year ago. I now am extremely unhappy with it. For walking id say its pretty accurate but I am an avid runner and I am coming to realize it is horrible for tracking my runs. I drove my run and my car said 5KM and my fitbit says it's 3.6KM.
IMO if your a walker, or fairly sedentary I would recommend. If your a runner I would recommend going with a Garmin.
Also if you choose to get her a Fitbit, if an extended warranty is offered then get it. Ive gone through 3 in a year.

I just got a Fitbit Charge HR as a gift, and I am really liking it so far. It is expensive but it tracks steps, floors climbed, calories burnt, heartrate, sleeptime, and a number of other things. It is cheaper to buy in the States right now because of the Canadian dollar - the person who bought mine got it for around $120 American and it's $170 tax in Canada. Just a tip in case anyone is interested in getting one.

I debated between getting this one and a Jawbone one, but wanted one with a screen and that kept track of heartrate.

i am so excited..I got one for Mother's Day, the Alta. I am surprised to read about the tracker monitoring kilometres in a car at all, or did I misunderstand. I'm a little confused as to how it works, don't want it falsely monitoring my driving as activity...

My brother owns one and loves it. He says it helps him stay healthy. He insisted on buying me one because I said I need to loose some weight. I think I will be getting one soon. :)
He also has an iWatch and loves his fitbit more, so I guess it's very useful! If your sister lives the healthy lifestyle then it would be a great birthday gift for her.
I think they range from about $100-$200 but not sure what is the difference for the price difference.
