flea / tick seasons coming up

Hi everyone. Flea and tick season are coming up, and I always start treating my dog (s) the 1st of April... been doing this for about 6 years and never had a problem with the buggers ( fleas ).
I just wanted to let everyone know what works great for my fur family. For the last 6 years I have been buying from the vet Bayer Advantix flea and tick topical treatment. Apply once a month, very easy to apply, can still swim and have baths, but I like to give it 24 hrs for the treatment to completely absorb. Can also get just the flea treatment, because when you use the one with tick treatment it is poisonous to cats if they get up and close to the dog ( rub ), so they say to keep the animals apart for 12 hrs. We have 5 cats and have no issues with the dog (s)and cats being in the same room.
Honestly, since I have been using this treatment we have had NO fleas, and just a few ticks ( and we hike through the woods a lot ).
We buy the pkg of 6, and that lasts for the spring and summer months and into fall. The cost is approx $125 depending on your location. It might sound like a lot, but it is so worth it.
Just wanted to give fellow animal lovers a heads up concerning a favorite topic... fleas and ticks, lol
p.s - for cat parents, there is also a treatment for them. :)

If anyone has been using a flea / tick treatment that works for them, please add it, as you never know who it might help.

Thanks so much for letting me know about Bayer Advantix I have never heard of this flea and tick prevention medication before. I have 2 indoor cat and a small dog. I also but for all 3 of my pets monthly. I am going to ask my veterinarian if this is a better brand for my pets.

Thanks for the info and reminder for others.
I used to always use Advantix as that is what our veterinarian recommend for our dog, who has since passed. Anyway, when we used it, we never had any issues with Flea or Ticks.

Flea and tick

I use an oral tablet for my dog that lasts for three months called Bravecto. It's all based on weight, and as I have two GSD mixes, it's about $60 a piece. I love on a farm and need prevention all year. For my cat, I use Revolution which is a flea and heartworm topical prevention.

I use Revolution for my dog, which basically works the same way as Advantix. This year due to the hot and cold spells I have been using it throughout the winter. There has been ticks throughout the winter in my area and I rather be safe than sorry. I also work within schools and there has been multiple outbreaks of lice. I found out that Revolution will also treat lice as well, which I was very thankful to find out since I have a golden retriever with long fur.

We use Nexgard for our dog, which is an oral flea and tick tablet. Our indoor cat gets a typical application of Revolution just to be safe.
