Getting started with Yoga


I have always wanted to do Yoga but I don't really have the motivation (thanks to my hypothyroidism, bleh!)...I also have a 6 month old daughter so getting alone time to focus is a tad difficult! Does anyone do mommy & baby Yoga? How did you get started with Yoga? Any and all information is appreciated :)

I started yoga not too long ago myself. I do my bootcamps religiously but wanted to do some yoga for my back and just mental relaxation.
I ended up doing yoga bootcamp not too much of relaxation, but there are so many different variations of yoga to do today that Im sure you'll find the one that fit and suits you the best.
I tried mommy baby yoga and it wasnt for me. Workouts and yoga are me time escape :) So I would do them early in the morning before hubby goes to work or on weekends, or at home with youtube while baby's napping.

Yoga is a great idea. I got into it like over five years ago.

The best way to start is with meditation and relaxation before you get into the physical stuff. Download a relaxing meditation tune of your choice online, there's a bunch you can find for free. Then just take 10 minutes to relax and breathe.

If you want assistance the assisted meditation cd might work, those songs come with a person's relaxing voice talking over the song to guide you in how to visualize things to help you relax.

When you're ready get a good beginners yoga book, you can search online for free resources or join a class.

I really enjoy doing yoga because it really helps stretch out your muscles and get more flexible with your body! It also really helps relieve lots of stress, helps you find your inner peace.

I like to set up my laptop ontop of my bed then I play yoga videos on Youtube. I really like Yoga with Adriene! She has really great yoga videos, there's also a video on her channel for beginners as well!

i tried to do yoga as well. i finally got my husband into doing it for a little while. we put youtube on our ps4 and basically just followed her. the only way i can do it is if it's like 30 min instead of those 2-3 hour ones. its less time but i can fit into my schedule more :) maybe you should try that

Make some you time. Get a babysitter and pay for class. Or designate a yoga space for you in your house with some DVDs. Educate yourself and take a couple classes before doing it yourself to get the poses right
