wonderwhatifBalanceWhen you get sick, it's easy to look for something to blame and be terrified of getting sick again and it can create a sort of anxiety (especially if you already have or are prone to anxiety). It took me a long time and a lot of scientific reading (outside of the often un-verified science and health knowledge that is pushed in papers from bad studies that have small sample sizes and haven't been proven well) to learn that it was not my fault.
Things you do can, of course, contribute to poor health. So do what you can, where you can. But as humans, we are for too eager to blame people for their health problems (ourselves included) without compassion. If you're like me, the pressure of doing the 'right thing' can destroy you and you'll struggle more with your health if you worry too much.
A lot of health issues are caused by a large percentage of luck and genetics. So my advice is to be gentle with yourself and try and do what you can, but don't let it overwhelm you.
Don't forget, mental health and stress are just as important to see to, as physical health, but I understand how scary it is. Sending you strength.
