Salads with water or olive oil based tuna are always my go-to for a healthy lunch! I pair that with a simple olive oil/vinegar dressing or incorporate an asian style dressing (some low sodium soya sauce, sesame oil, fresh ginger, white vinegar and a small dash of sugar) to spice things up. If salads aren't your thing, a tilapia filet with brown rice, and greens is super yummy or some turkey wraps (whole wheat wraps or even lettuce wraps) are some of my other go-to's. :)

Always looking for ideas

I seem to always struggle with this and have tried to find a blog or meal plan to follow. I’m great at coping and just can’t think on the spot. But having it all planned out with groceries in house for items makes life 100% better and not to mention the grocery bill is better.

Homemade bento boxes

I cringe when I see coffee shops selling bento snack boxes for $8 - $10 each. It usually consists for a handful of almonds, a hard boiled egg, a cut apple/handful of grapes, a piece of prepackaged cheese and some coldcuts. It might cost you $25 to buy your ingredients but it will make for healthy lunches all week, cutting the cost in half.

Healthy Meals Healthy Life

Any meal can be healthy. It's the ingredients you choose, how you prepare it, & portion size! I usually pack whatever leftovers I had the night before or grab one of the frozen slow cooked meals I prepared on the weekend. I'm extremely busy during the week so I cook extra on the weekend, divvy it up, & freeze them.
In terms of the ingredients I choose, I use no fats except for coconut milk to make curries, butter sparingly for bagels/bread which I rarely eat, no deli meats, Oven breaded/Roast instead of deep fried, no sugar, replaced desserts with fruit, replaced ice cream with yogurt, no cereal except oatmeal, no energy bars except Kind Bars, dark chocolate only, drink black coffee, no cheese, cookies, crackers, pies, cakes, or alcohol except on special occasions. I prefer whole fruit to juices and fruit purees, hummus, tahini, & nut butters to jams & butter.
I sear meat 1st in non stick pans to render the fat if I need it to cook the rest of the meal. I steam, stir fry, & roast alot.
Don't forget to exercise til you can't anymore! Try it :)

everything is fine in moderation. I honestly feel like as long as you don’t eat too much of something and balance your meal you’re fine. I always like lettuce wraps.

Healthy lunch

I like frying up chickpeas (canned, drained). Then you can add one or more of the following foods - lean ground beef, chicken strips, celery, cherry tomatoes, peppers. Pack it up for lunch. You can also bring some pita bread and hummus as a side.
I've enjoyed this many times.

Healthy Lunch Ideas

Hello! I like to incorporate leftovers into lunches. Using leftovers usually gives me a more balanced lunch, as we do tend to balance our meals. Sometimes it is the salad from dinner and I will take leftover veggies and meat (cut up chicken or steak) and maybe some yogurt. It is easy to pack as you are cleaning up the kitchen and in the morning, you just grab and go from the fridge.

Sensible swaps

brown bread is tastier and healthier than white, and it’s got more fibre than white so a better option for a lunch that’s not too stodgy.

Variety!

I’m a part time lunch maker haha with two kids and a husband who works I look after the Lunch making.
My easy nutritional Go- To’s are wraps.
I buy the premade chicken strips and wraps (there are a variety of flavoured wraps spinach, sundried tomato, white plain, whole wheat etc) and will add red or green peppers, onions, canned corn, avocado, a little cheese, spinach or lettuce and ranch dressing or mayo - but of course you can fill it with the veggies of your choice- and it doesn’t break the bank either!
