My 'Welcome' To 'MENOPAUSE' ... Ugh!!

Well, here I am, 52 yrs old (turning 53 in August, of 2018) and going through the worst Hot Flashes that feel so unbelievably uncomfortable, that I want to SCREAM!!!
All day, and all night of extreme heat, surging throughout my body!!
Sometimes I feel the need to strip right down, & jump into the shower, in order to release my frustrations & COOL DOWN ... (so to speak)!!!
This helps temporarily, by making sure to not shock my normal body temperature, by easing into a room temperature shower!!
Jumping into an ice cold one sounds wonderful, ... *but it is not advisable at all!!!* (Lol)
Anyways, forgive me, as I know I am not the only one suffering from the "Hot Flashes," etc.
But, if there is anyone else out there, that's experiencing the same &/or similar feelings, it would be great to hear from you!!
One other thing that I find helps me with the "Hot Flashes" is keeping a cool gel pack at my bedside & a miniature fan that runs on two 'triple A batteries!!
Again, anyone else out there that may be comfortable enough to talk about this, please do ... Because We should all help one another with the various stages of Womenhood.
Thanks for listening, &/or reading ladies!!!

welcome to menapause

I am always cold, so maybe I would not mind having these hot flashes.
I have not had any hot flashes as of yet. My mom never did either, but I know that both of my aunts did.

What are some other signs that you are going through menopause (besides missing your period every month)?

I remember my mom getting REALLY bad hot flashes in her early 40's when it all started....Im like I WISH I had a hot flash LOL....Im SOOOO COLD daily, I have thyroid conditions which doesn't function very well therefore it doesn't regulate my body temperature at all so I'm freezing in Hot 30 weather sometimes....its really crazy...Im cold right now my hands are icicles lol ... But I think they wouldn't be fun as its hot and painful almost

But I have read that Red Clover and Black Cohosh which are herbs helps with the symptoms of hot flashes. Check it out at your local health food store they will have it there.

Hot flashes

I had mild hot flashes a few times last year. I read that avoiding sugar and caffeine helps a lot. I don't know but maybe that's why mine were mild. My mother didn't have them much at all, although some doctors say we don't always have the same symptoms as our mothers. I would investigate about what to avoid and maybe supplements at a health food store. Hope you get some relief very soon.

Welcome to menopause

"Hello to *Iamurap*

Thanks for your reply, on this particular subject!!
You asked about other things that I might be experiencing ... other than my menstrual cycle ending.
I've noticed my emotions changing every once & awhile as well!!
For example, I have moments when I have found myself bursting into tears, ... tears of joy, & then unexpected laughter!! Which can be very embarrassing, especially if I'm out in public!!
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that my emotions seem to be on a rollercoaster ride!!
And believe me when I say "OMG," that was embarrassing, time to go to my doctor to see if I can be put on hormone replacement therapy!!
I hope this little bit of information is helpful to you, and that you never have to go through this yourself!!
Take good care of yourself, & enjoy the next part of Womenhood!!
Warm regards,

My mother also began having menopause. I realized that it was really very uncomfortable. She also had symptoms such as insomnia, hair loss and depression. We found a Premarin Cream with estrogen and it greatly improved the situation. My mother felt well and began to discharge normally. This is cool, now I know what I will use during my menopause

I went through menopause three years ago and I experienced very dry skin and so much hair loss. Other than that; I NEVER had any hot flashes or mood swings.
