Night Sweats

on Mar 09, 2016 @ 03:19 am

Does anyone else suffer from non menopausal related night sweats? Were you diagnosed with something or given an explanation? I have Night Sweats almost every single night on my chest and face and back of neck
I literally will have drops running down my face. Gross, I know.
The only thing I can think of is my moderate sleep apnea which is untreated. I have to wear the full mouth and nose face mask and I've tried so many different ways I just can't do it! It wakes me up every time there's a blast of air blowing down my airway.

Yikes, sorry to hear about those night sweats. Must be difficult to manage. For me I don't get dripping wet but I do wake up hot and have to pull away the covers in the middle of the night. I am hot blooded and have been like this all my life.

I'm always cold. I like sleeping with tons of blankets. Sometimes my feet are even cold when it happens but sometimes my entire body is hot. It's so frustrating bc I'm waking up soaked.

You could be experiencing pre menopausal symptoms. If you find it is a real problem, consult a physician to see if it is masking maybe another problem.

Herbal Treatments - Night Sweats on Mar 09, 2016 @ 12:20 pm

I experienced this and went alternative medicine.. It helped.

Go into your local independent health store and speak to the folks there. They really gave me some awesome affordable options that have been helping.

Herbal remedies for women with hot flashes include

  1. plants that cool the system, such as chickweed, elder and violet;
  2. plants that nourish or increase oxygen utilization in the liver, such as dong quai, dandelion, Ho Shou Wu (polygonum multiflorum) and yellow dock; and
  3. plants rich in phytosterols, such as black cohosh.31

I have them but it's pregnancy related. Looking forward to the relief once this baby comes out!

Sounds like peri-menopause.
They make great supplements like FemMed or Swiss Naturals, but eating protein like cheese or nuts can decrease the sweats.

Depending on your age, I agree it may be peri-menopause. I had these sweats for about a year before they went away. I also had the occasional hot flash during the day. I didn't take anything for it though. I didn't feel it was bad enough to warrant any drugs. However, that is me, you should definitely speak to a doctor about some of your options.
