Are you caring for a disabled child or elderly parent? If so, you are truly a wonderful person and I admire you for it. You are truly special. It can be overwhelming at times, but what you are doing is plain admirable.

I worked as a PSW for many years worked at many hospitals, private care, nursing homes, agencies and with the MOD for 7 years. I really loved my job but it really does make you realize how lucky we are not to have to depend on the simplest things in life that we all take for granted like just being able to brush our own teeth, or bath ourselves and even just being able to put our own coat on and walk outside. It was a very challenging, stressful at times and very hard work. But I would not change those years and experience for anything. Now that I am in my 50's I just found that it was so hard on my health, mind and body. But you are right it is not a job for everyone but someone has to do it. You just have to have heart. compassion and empathy. Because none of know where we might be someday. Great Post !

It's a beautiful self-less act to help such individuals, especially when we are all heading to becoming older not younger.
