PLUS Model Magazine released images of a plus size model next to a regular model to "encourage plus-size consumers to pressure retailers to better cater to them, and stop promoting a skinny ideal". These pictures have some stats on them relating to sizes and modelling.
The issue being raised with these photos is giving the idea that it's ok to be "overweight" and therefore "unhealthy".
Apparently this woman is still only a size 12.
It's quite interesting. You can see the images here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2085226/PLUS-Model-Magazines-Katya-Zharkova-cover-highlights-body-image-fashion-industry.html
What are your thoughts on this?

Just a heads up - pictures are a little on the risque side.

I personally believe the plus size model looks WAY better than the "normal" (if you can even say that) one. Moreso, I dont even think considering her PLUS size is correct, I dont look at her and think FAT or OVERWEIGHT! Shes absolutely beautiful!! It seriously angers me that over time, anorexic has become what sexy is defined as, when it used to be the other way around!! Hopefully, one day, just ONE day, the media does something about this..but with their track record, it seems highly unlikely. ugh!

I think that she is absolutely stunning. I get sick and tired of these magazines full of girls I'll never look like, wearing clothes I'll never fit into. I'm a bigger girl, and I'm ok with it. She's not overweight. She's healthy. And if you care to disagree with me, I don't care. Personally, I think its wonderful and I give her serious props for doing what she's doing. xx
