any tips on how to beat the nasty pms...i really hate it n that whole"change your diet" doesn't work

Well for starters my PMS has been much much better since I went on the pill so toning it down has been fairly easy and I never found that changing my diet helped at all. Here are a couple things that work for me:

If you can feel that your mood is shifting I know that exercise really helps, releasing a little bit of energy can help your mood.

Here is a really random tip, it works for me but I'm not sure it works for everyone. Having a tiny bit of dark chocolate everyday right before my period and during usually helps temper my mood. Maybe it isn't the chocolate and I think it is, but I find that helps a lot!

Oh boy. When I am PMS I give in to it all. I can not control my diet during that time and so I don't bother trying. Having said that I'm not a big eater anyway. What I do find helpful is what Anonymous #2 said about eating a bit of dark chocolate. That seems to work.

Aside from that, just lower your expectations of yourself during that time and take some extra peace and quiet for yourself every day wherever possible. Since the hormones are all over the place it's not easy to be your regular cheery self. I usually give a heads up to my guy so he knows I may not be at my best.

I think if you go on the pill then pms symptoms drop to practically nil. The pill controls your hormones, and even during the withdrawal week you are still protected against pregnancy, so I think that means your hormone level is still controlled - even the bleeding you experience is not a real period.

But if this is true then it means my family is intentionally trying to provoke me during my withdrawal week.

i have heard the same, im on the pill but still get bad pms the week before, but during my period im a happy chappy!! so i do recommend the pill for that reason...
