I don't currently have kids earth side (just one on the way!) but my best tip for saving money at the grocery store is to compare flyers and try and purchase what's on sale! I only have 2 grocery stores in the town where I live but between the two it's easy to buy a good variety of fresh veggies/meats/and fruits on sale! We also stock up when an item we use often or know we are going to use is on sale because we know we are going to use it eventually! Lastly, we are thrifty with our meals! If we have bread that's about to go bad we make grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch. Little things like that make a huge difference!

I've been buying fresh fruits and veggies (when they're on sale) and making dip.. stuff they can just grab and snack on on their own.
Not sure where you're located, but you should see if the Flash Food app is available for your area. Stores list food on there for 50% off, sometimes more. It's for food that's going to expire soon but still within their dates that they want to sell. I check daily to see if anything good is on there. I've bought fair sized boxes of fruit and veggies for like $2 from there before. I've also managed to basically stock my freezer with meat for under $30.. great app if it's available in your area.

I used to waste alot of fruits and vegetables but now I freeze them. It's great because my vegetables are prepared to make meals and my fruits are ready for smoothies or baking. I prefer frozen fruits in my smoothies anyways. I used to waste alot of leftovers but now I put my leftovers in freezer bags and save. I find casseroles and pasta dishes are the best for us. When it comes to meat I only buy what we really like which is chicken breast, found beef and we also eat alot of fish. I tried meal planning thinking it would save money but we ended up spending the same amount of money. I guess you could look on Pinterest or google for budget saving meals.
