Depends on what they have already if they are young just about anything. I like to buy sleepers and onesies. In different sizes and a few in larger sizes, they grow so quickly. If there will be baby showers gift cards are helpful too.

Sleepers/Onsies are always useful. And diapers :)

Definitely diapers are a good one! I love making a big basket full of surprises to give for showers, with sleepers, an outfit or two, socks, rattles, soothers, face clothes......the list goes on an on! They are a lot of fun to make and you can find some really useful cute baby stuff at dollar stores so you don't have to spend a fortune!

Baby socks everyone forgets socks! Gripe water is a good thing incase little babe is grumpy and colokey. Oh the teeth brusher is a good one to have aswell as it helps keep his gums clean so teething isn't as painful for him when that time comes

i usually go with gender specific pajamas, and....red face cloths. I got some at my workplace shower from a very wise mom who told me that when kids hurt themselves, they panic at the sight of blood. A red washcloth stops them from seeing all that blood and reduces anxiety. Honestly, the most memorable gift I received...I still remember and my son is 24!

Diapers and baby wipes, in various sizes (when I was pregnant with my first, I was given several boxes of diapers and wipes, and my husband commented that we probably wouldn't need them all? Hahaha Boy was he wrong, we went through those in the first couple of weeks!) Sleepers are a great idea, extra receiving blankets, socks, protective mitts and a baby book!

I found I got a lot of clothes at my baby shower! So if you want to get something different books, burp cloths and soothers are always helpful! Also the medications that they might need like baby Advil, Benadryl, and Gripe Water along with a safety kit... I find those items are often forgotten about but are so important!

I think the most practice gift is a gift card babies need a tone of stuff constantly! For me I got like 80 baby clothes and 10 blanked and more pansies then triplets could have worn. Would have been nice to get a gift card to be able to get what u will need and use

As a mommy I'd say diapers are a basic one but very much needed, clothing, bottles, etc!

From things I heard from my friends who recently had babies gift cards are great, then they can get what is needed as it comes ups. Also everyone gets gifts for the baby but the parens need things too, pre-cooked meals are a great idea :)
