We finally saw this last night. This is a very funny movie but not for someone easily offended. There are a lot of racial jokes and making fun of women. However, the Borat character is so well done and it is very tongue and cheek so you don't really get offended, it's more of an expose on some really outdated and screwed up values. The naked fighting scene is one I had to look away from. So, so gross!
Watch all of the extra scenes. Some of those are even better.

It was hilarious in the theatre, i just have not been able to bring myself to buy it...knowing that my eyes will be shut for 20mins of the movie (naked fight) hahahahha! It was a good movie though, maybe I will rent it to see the extras you are talking about!

I saw it in theatres, and I loved it :D it met all of my expectations. It was hilarious, and yes the naked fight was disgusting and disturbing and all around WRONG, but the movie was great nonetheless - I couldn't stop laughing.
Sacha Baron Cohen is a comic genius.
I think if I had to pick a favourite moment, it would be the one where the children come running over to the ice cream truck and the bear sticks it's head out of the back and growls and they run away screaming.

While I agree that Sacha Baron Cohen was great in this film, I sat there at the end, looked over at my husband and we're both like:
I don't get this flick. I also categorically dislike movies that rely mainly on shock value and vulgar comedy to carry the story. To me, it says the plot wasn't good enough to carry itself. I also didn't like "Something About Mary" for the same reason. It's not that I'm prudish, I just think it's too much for my taste.
I will give you, though, the scene with the bear and children was one of the best in the movie. I also loved the subway scene near the beginning where he tries his double-kiss greeting on the strangers.
