Wedding spa and salon advice

Hi Ladies. A bit of a different situation here. I met the greatest guy two years ago and it has been nothing but heaven! The difference here is the fact that I am gay. we have the best relationship and he really brings out my feminine side (which i LOVE!!) He proposed and i accepted and we are to be married Jan 31st (I am sooo excited)
The big part.....i have decided that I want the full female experience and hope to make a beautiful bride! I have chosen my gown and everything that goes with it! Fromthe week or two before my wedding i will be full time female (started hormones). I am very passable and need some advice on a good spa and salon so I can get everyhting done!!! extensions, massage, facial, waxing and then hair makeup updo etc. Can anyone recommend a alon in Toronto or West to Oakville that I can go to?

This is the reason we started the site. I was planning my wedding out of town and had no idea where to go :) Congrats on your big day! This is a tall order finding all of those services in one place! I would consider splitting them up since I've yet to find one place that is equally good at all of those things. It also depends on your budget.

I find the Stillwater Spa to be the nicest in the city and most relaxing. That's in Yorkville. For hair, I haven't had an updo in Toronto yet but if I was going to get one I would consider trying Osole since Eric del Monaco is there and he is the Hair expert at Fashion Week. The website is really cheesy but I'm going there later this week for a haircut and I'll let you know what I think of it. I noticed they also have quite a few spa services as well. I'll update after my experience there :)

Good luck with the planning :)

Thanks so much Jewlsts! The whole "chick/chickie" thing started because for some reason I started calling all of my friends "chickies", years ago. I don't know why! So naturally I had to be misschickie ;)

So here's my experience at Osole. It's a very nice location with a big picture window that is very charming. The salon is nice though not remarkable. They do have spa services and I requested a polish change but they said they would check if the esthetician was available and then never got back to me. I went for a haircut with Eric del Monaco (L'Oreal Fashion Week and Project Runway Canada) who is amazing. LOVE him! More on that later. One thing that disappointed me was no scalp massage. The guy that washed my hair was a bit sloppy and got more water on my neck and clothes than normal, put conditioner only in the ends for two seconds and no scalp massage. That was disappointing and those factors made for a far below average hair washing.

HOWEVER, Eric del Monaco is amazing and truly deserves to be the star he is. He is sweet and fun and humble. Really like him. My cut is fantastic and easy to manage. He cleaned up some of the straggly ends that were troubling me from my last haircut. I had the Shop Crawl afterwards so he also styled my hair. I got a lot of compliments on my hair that night. I will definitely go back to Eric for haircuts though he is also an expert on colour, just a bit out of my price range.

I'm not sure that will qualify for the spa experience you are looking for, though the prices seemed decent. If I were getting married in Toronto I would get:

My bikini wax and eyebrow theading from Queens Quay Hair Design Esthetic:

My updo from Eric at Osole (review to come!)

My massage and day of relaxation from Still Water:

And my manicure/pedicure from 10 Spot:

or Tips Nail Bar:

Tips also has Spa services available that I haven't had a chance to try yet but suspect they would be good.

Good luck with your special day and I hope you find what you are looking for!

Speaking of Stillwater....

...I have no idea why I have not rated it here yet but Stillwater is an AMAZING experience. I went there with a friend for an afternoon and a massage and it was amazing. I highly recommend it! It is a lot pricier than your average massage from an Registered Massage Therapist but the experience makes it well worth it!!!

Mobile SPA

Spa at home is a good idea. My girlfriend did it for her wedding and it was great!
Sometimes it is nice to be at home (in your robe) where you can really relax, enjoy yourself and be pampered.
