What's Your Wedding Song?

Wedding season is just around the corner... so I'm wondering what was/ will be your wedding song - you know, the one you have your first dance to? How did you choose it?

Aisle Songs

On a kind of related/unrelated note, I'm curious about the song everyone used/wants to use for walking down the aisle.

Also, are you guys fans of the whole dancing/crazy aisle walk that was so popular a little while back?

I think an aisle dance would be super fun but it completely depends on the family. Both our sides are rather conservative so it probably wouldn't have gone over too well. lol Our bridal party came down the aisle to Pachelbel Canon and I came down to the traditional Here Comes the Bride because my husband said that was his dream and how he envisioned seeing me walk towards him with my dad. How could I say no to that?!

I had a friend of mine sing When God Made You during the lighting of our unity candle and signing of our marriage license. When we were picking our wedding song, I made a list of about 5 songs I wanted to listen to and decide which was best for us. We listened to them together and that was one that actually made us both almost start to cry so we were sold!

We exited the church to The Wedding March.

We went very traditional. We had such a wonderful day and I'm glad we did it that way. And now I want to watch our video again! I actually remember very little about really hearing the music. You're so caught up in your own world at your wedding.

Hooked on classics...

Walking down 'the aisle', I used Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring on a single violin... we had a non-traditional elopement. But I love the traditional Wagner for entry and then ending of Mendelsson's march. There's something grand and magical that really gets me about those...

Aisle dances... totally fun... but I'm sort-of over them. Everyone in the party has to have co-ordination, rythmn and the desire to really commit to it.

I cant remember our dance song

I know this sounds horrible but I cannot for the life of me remember the song my husband and I danced to, I know it was a song by keith urban. The song I walked down the isle to was god bless the broken road by rascal flats, we picked this one because we had dated in highschool broke up he had gotten married and devorced, I had been pregnant and miscarried then we had gotten back together and a year after got married so their was alot of things we had to work through for us to be together.

Soft and romantic

There are 2 songs I've always considered if I were to tie the knot!

By your Side by Sade & Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton

Both soft and romantic and everything a first dance should be! :)

No words

We actually had our first dance to the Brian Setzer arrangement of Sleepwalk. It was so romantic and awesome! Our two year anniversary is just around the corner, actually!

Ours is going to be....

the version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
For whatever reason, we both get emotional ,and absolutely love this version of this song, and find it suits us! A song about reaching out dreams.. together :)

our wedding

We walked down to the normal song and we never had a first dance at our wedding - got married outside with just a relaxed get together after! However if we could have had one I think it would have been "My Last Name" by Dirks Bently we love that song!

Quirky Wedding Song

The song my husband and I danced to for our first dance was 'The Girl' by City & Colour. It's nice and slow in the beginning, but it get fast and more dance-y at the end which invited everyone to dance along with us. We had our entire wedding outside, so the song was informal enough to play into the outdoor, laid back vibe, but sweet enough to still be meaningful!
