tips

You can use rakuten for cash back on purchases you were making anyway. Use appropriate credit cards for certain purchases (like if you have a mastercard with 2% cashback on groceries, use that one for food purchases only and a visa with points on everything, use that one for all other purchases) Premake your grocery shopping list before you go to the store so you don't over-shop.

You can use apps like Kijiji and Bunz for either selling or trading stuff you don't want or need anymore. I've managed to de-clutter considerably using those two. You can find cool new things and get rid of your old useless stuff in one go.

Before you buy anymore clothes, look through what you already have. Sometimes you forget things you already own because its in the back of your closet. If you reorganize your things you might discover pieces you forgot you had and it'll kind of feel like a new purchase.

Me too

I have also been spending really unnecessarily through this pandemic as I've been staying home a lot more and have more opportunity to see things I wouldn't want to buy normally. I've found my largest expense is given through fast food and eating out, and if I go shopping and meal plan for the week I am significantly less likely to go and order out when I'm feeling snackish.
I also found if I give though my closet and find clothes I havent worn in a while that I'm less inclined to go shopping for more, it's easy to lose track of your favorites at the back of your closet and feel like you need to go and buy more.

Ideas

Taking advantage of rewards cards is good. PC Optimum lets you earn points in multiple stores, from groceries to household items. The points do add up quickly if you incorporate the app, sales and coupons. Checkout 51 gives you cash back when you shop for certain items. PC MasterCard lets you earn points on anything you buy,you just have to pay off your purchases right away to not incur a large balance or high interest charges

Put unused change in a pot or box

If you need to use cash, put the change in a pot or a box every time and you'll be surprised at how much you accumulate.

tracking

I keep my budget planner where I track every single expense, from a Redbull at the gas station to rent and everything in between. I use this to create my budget. I find this is effective because it shows me exactly how much I need to spend on needs like rent, utilities, groceries, gas, insurance, debt, etc, as well as how much I can spend on luxuries or just things I don't need to get by.

Money Saving

In the UK carrier bags can cost anything between 5p, up to 7p or even 20p in some stores. If you have re-useable bags and take them when you shop, over time you'll save a few extra pounds / dollars and you're helping the planet too. That said, I re-use plastic carriers as rubbish bags / bin bags and that can also save you some cash on bin sacks.

Sell things

Sell crafting items… that’s a great way to have a bit of pocket money. Make something you love & try to sell it. I craft & have been thinking a lot to sell items I make because I’ve had so many compliments on my cards and craft items. It’s definitely something to look into. If your good at something, make it & definitely sell it. Or start selling unwanted items. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

cut take aways

Take away coffees cost lots of cash. it is very easy to buy a hot cup and make your own coffee at home. Take a lunch box from home if you gonna be on the way or at work - healthier and cheaper option than fastfood. I had a very difficult times at the beginning of last year and even had to take a loan from https://maybeloan.com. Lucky me, everything worked well at the end and i am employed again. My loan is long time forgotten now)))
