Product/Services Reviews

Just a thought:
How about allowing, instead of solely updates, a way to edit submissions on our reviews? Although I primarily check my entries for errors prior to submitting them, I have boo-booed two of my reviews without being able to adjust an incomplete sentence or a misspelling. I might be slightly neurotic, but I enjoy showing you all my best reviews, minus the shoddy workmanship inherent in allowing such errors to be published undetected.

good question. The reason we can't allow users to edit existing submissions is simple - it fiddles with the overall ratings system. Sorry!

If you are concerned about typos, etc, simply email me with the urls and your edits and I can update them behind the scenes as time allows.

Aha!

Too bad! Good to know there is a way to fix my silly errors. However, considering the extra time and effort it would take if we all e-mailed you with trivial issues, nothing else would get done :) I suppose I can live with my update-fixing :)

use update to edit

Hi elizamv! Just recently I had made a mistake in a review. I had
noted the wrong scent. I used the update field to indicate the proper
scent name. I noticed a few days later that the update had been
removed and the proper scent name appeared in my review, as though I
had never made the error.

I'm not sure if I got lucky and chickadvisor powers that be happened to
notice my update/edit or if they actively look at those. So if you
don't feel like emailing about your mistakes and feeling like a pest,
perhaps what I did is a solution ... shrug.

Good to know Spotty! They're pretty on top of things, I'd say.

Powers that be magically correcting for you

Yep, Spotty that's what happened ;)

We get notifications when someone updates a review and check it out.

We don't correct spelling errors because as you can imagine that would be a full time job (for several people!), but if it bugs you, just update or send us a note and we'll try to get to it :)
