Solo Trip

About  3 weeks ago i took a solo,trip to South Carolina for a week. I know my way around i have gone the past 4 years, but this time completely  alone. I needed some time on my own and this is my favourite place on Earth, my happy place. I spent hours in the ocean, every day twice a day.... amazirng.. A man i thought i knew introduced me to this beautiful place and walked out of my life. I needed to go back here to get my head on straight and  I think I did..My next vacation is September for 3 weeks and i may go,back to the place i went last year ,for 10 days, it is very expensive so,I have  to look at hotels and do,some checking first. I booked my solo,trip just a week before, so I can do this the same way... i just needed to vent. I am doing better since i came home I found peace across the border ....:)

Wow good for you. I've debated going on a solo trip to just relax and unwind and enjoy the company of myself. I haven't done it yet but I believe I will one day. I taken short drives alone. There's something about driving quietly and peaceful on the road that helps me. Good for you.

I am happy that you found some inner peace, however sad that you had to have your heart broken.

I guess things happen for a reason, and sometimes that isn't always clear when it is happening.

I admire the fact that you went on a trip solo, and to a place that had happy/painful memories.

I'm glad you have taken the trip solo to unwind! It's always nice to spend time alone. I've learnt that from my therapy sessions. Sometimes going back to a place where it might hurt the most because of the good memories is the best place to heal as it is exposure therapy. Kudos, to you for having the courage to do it!

I've also taken small trips myself at times, I enjoy it very much. It gives me time to reflect.

Try Priceline for hotels on your next trip in September. I always get good deals from "Name your own price" when travelling within the United States. I think they changed it to "express deals".

I think learning and embracing being alone at times is very healthy, some people just don't know how. I spend a lot of time alone....I have gotten to know me! What I like what I dislike!! making me a better partner..... Hats off to you for embracing it and going back to the place where the person you cared about took you....that's not easy to do but I think you gained a lot of strength from this! Girl power!

the support from th chicks means alot to me. South Carolina is in my soul and i have always felt like I belonged there. I feel stronger now and have not had any contact since Easter weekend where i was told not to contact him or anyone in his life and I havent. My biggest fear is to see him driving down the street i guess i would be in shock but would never talk or adknowledge him anymore what he has done to me. I am still in shock after this experience of this 5 year relationship a very strange one that has finally ended for the better. I'm sure of that now. I had lots of encouragement from family and co workers and decided to just go and see how it goes. I made it thru! I came home and I am refreshed and ready to go again, i take one day at a time.....

I'm so glad you did this for yourself . It's always good to have some alone time . I actually prefer to be alone .

I spend lots of time alone I'm ok with it, being away from home is different and far away but before I decided to go I knew I had to be strong. I booked a week before and as it got closer I was excited for the adventure
