Soap Operas

Does anyone still keep up with soap operas? If so, which ones have you enjoyed watching? Any storylines or characters that stood out for you during the years?

JaSam fan — GH

Great post “prettyrainbow”, I was just about to post the
same question.

I started watching soaps with my grandmother when I was just
a little girl. I think that I’ve
followed quite a few at some point or another.
I started watching GH (General Hospital) when I was at university and I
haven’t kicked the habit yet. I think I
like the idea of guessing what the outcome might be or let’s face it I might
have a little crush on Detective Nathan West (Ryan Peavey).
J I just want to see JaSam reunited even though
Steve Burton is no longer playing the role of Jason Morgan. It’s a great way to unwind and I like that I
don’t have to wait a week to find out what happens.

I used to watch General Hospital I don't know if you are to young to remember Luke & Laura . I also watch the Young & Restless Tracy & Brad but they got to be so boring so I stopped. I did really enjoy nighttime soaps like Melrose Place couldn't wait to see the next episode, 90210 and Knots Landing I really enjoyed them also Great post brings back memories.

Thanks for responding ladies! I used to watch GH back in the 90's but lost track of it along the way. I remember Luke and Laura and Sonny was also a popular character during that time. I think I transitioned to GH when a few of my favorite actors from Days of our Lives switched over (Mary Beth Evans, Stephen Nichols and Wally Kurth) and now most have returned back to DOOL.

I'm currently watching Days as well as Y&R. I've also watched since I was a little girl and it's amazing how some of the original actors are still there. I'm a little confused though... There were rumors about GH being taken off the air. What happened with that? Are they showing reruns or are there still new episodes?

I liked Victor,Paul, Nicky, I thought she was so pretty. and Mrs.Chandler I watched it for years but when I was working as a psw I worked a lot of afternoon shifts so I just lost track of it glad to hear that it is still on the air they have cancelled so many daytime soaps to bad many great actresses and actors stated their careers on them,

Victor, Paul and Nicky are still there and their storylines are pretty good right now. The actress who played Mrs. Chandler unfortunately passed away last year. She was one feisty lady!

I DVR the shows so that I can watch them on my spare time. :)

soap operas

Did anyone ever watch the nightly soaps, as they are called here? Shows like Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon Crest or Knot's Landing?

Nightly Soaps

I grew up on Dallas and Dynasty! Ah...the good ol'days LOL! They should play re-runs of the original episodes. I would certainly watch them!

Nightly soaps

I agree with Prettyrainbow. Have you seen a photo of Joan Collins recently? She still looks amazing at her age, it's as if she hasn't aged at all. Her sister Jackie Collins, who is a writer, looks the same way. They never age. At one time Dallas was on reruns and it didn't last long. I didn't watch the new version of Dallas when it came on. It had Larry Hagman, the original J.R., on it until his passing.

My mom and I watched a few episodes of the recent version of Dallas, but it didn't captivate us like the original had. She has a few of Jackie Collins' novels and I remember reading one or two of them (I believe "Lucky" was one of the titles). I agree, they both look like they haven't aged a bit...must be something in the water they're drinking! LOL
