Selling your used clothing and accessories

Hello Chicks,

As we're coming into Spring, I've been on a bit of a cleaning and purging spree! I've gone through my closet and have created quite the pile of used clothes that I don't wear anymore. I always try to sell them in my annual garage sale for some extra pocket change but generally just get pennies compared to what I've purchased them for. This is especially annoying for high quality items (lululemon outfits I've out-grown, designer purses, jeans etc).

I started bringing my clothing to a local consignment store that takes seasonal things a few times a year. Unfortunately, I'm limited to the number of things I can bring, only receive a lump sum after the clothes are sold, and am charged a recycling fee for each item not sold. This is a bit tedious.

There's also another chain store a few towns away that will provide you money upfront which is great, but they do research on the items  and only take clothes that were manufactured up to a year prior, and are brands targeted to teens and twenty-somethings. I'm going to head over today to see if they will take any of my items.

I've heard of people in the US using sites like Poshmark to sell their gently-used clothing and accessories but I don't think it's available in Canada (please correct me if I'm wrong). Do any of you Chicks have any recommendations on how/where to sell used clothing? Apps, websites, stores?

**Side Note:
What do you ladies do with your old bras? I must have 10-15 bras in great condition that I've kept over the years that hardly got worn because of a, well... a growth spurt! I would love to donate these to a charity or shelter. We all know bras are expensive and i'm sure there are women out there who need them, but I just can't seem to find any that is willing to take them! I'd hate for them just to go to waste.

Selling used clothes

have you searched Facebook for buy and sell groups? That's where I sell most of mine. They sometimes have specific groups for different brands like lulu lemon. Kijiji is also good too. I haven't used any of the other sites though.

I know my cousin sells all her lightly used things. She sells on varagesale and Kijiji and like previous poster said there's also Facebook groups. I usually end up donating my daughter's clothes and she has so many designer baby clothes. I am thinking about selling but I know I will probably just end up donating.

To be honest I just donate everything, it makes me happy to know it will go to a good home and I don't feel as though it's worth my time to try and sell them. If you don't need the money I highly recommend you just donate them to a local charity like a women's shelter.

We have bags of clothes here after a major spring clean. We usually donate but are planning to have a garage sale this May. I know we won't get much for clothing but every bit helps. Our garage sale pile just keeps expanding.

I donate clothes all the time but I think having a yard sale is a great idea if your looking to make a little extra cash.

Let It Go

Have you tried the site called Letitgo?

You may get some buyers on there.

Your bras maybe send them to valueville or Good will

I've sold a few pairs of jeans on kijiji. I always meet the person at a Tim Horton's so we are both in public and its safe.

Selling clothing

I have to say chicks,I have never in my life hear anyone say that they sell their clothes they no longer need for whatever reason.I just go through everything in my Spring cleaning and just bag it as I go.I give all my clothing I don't wear or don't want anymore to the Salvation Army. They are such good people and they help thousands of unfortunate people. They are such a grateful people also.I have been doing this now for years.Maybe it is because my Hubby is Salvation Army and sometimes I go to his Church.I think it is a good way to make some extra money by selling clothes.I see nothing wrong with that,it is really new to me though.
