Adult Acne

I did not have acne until I was 27 years old, and its come in full force. I have it all down my neck and the base of face on my jaw line. I am unsure what is causing this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Most likely your hormones. Have you went too the doctor and asked? Maybe get your hormones check out....Sometimes high estrogen can cause increase of acne.

I'm 36 and still suffer from adult acne . It's hormonal for me and related to PCOS that I have . I even get cystic acne which is so painful . Talk to your doctor about it . Maybe they can prescribe Accutane . It worked miracles on me when I was 16 and my face was covered in huge cysts . It's a very serious medication so make sure to do your research on it .

All my adult life...........

When I was a teen, had no problems, had my first child and bam! I lived with it, and also suffered from cystic acne, which Pammywhammy845 is right, is super painful. I had one cyst once right between my eyebrows the size of a quarter and stuck out about 1 cm. It was brutal. I used to have to go into the doctors office to get it drained, and it always came back with full force. About 4 years ago I had enough. I had tried everything, aside from Accutane, that I could think of or was recommended. Then I went to my family doctor sobbing, and she put me on something called Minocycline. "Minocycline is a tetracycline antibiotic that fights bacteria in the body." as per drugs.com.

It has done wonders for me over the years. I feel your pain and wish you much luck in finding a resolution for yourself.

I feel your pain, 37 and still get a breakout every month, always a day or two before my period. I tend to get 1-2 that are deep and hard as rock for a day or so before it comes to the surface. The last few months I have been using Neutrogena Deep Clean for the week and I am finding it is helping clear it up quicker.
