I do sometimes. I use a natural pill called valerian root. It helps me calm down as well as sleep.

Yes i suffer from anxiety.. I am on aprazalam..think that is how it is spelt.. Very low dose.. .25mg... I also went to counselling for it. It is no fun and i have to tell myself that it is all in my head. Funny how the mind can play tricks on us ...

I panic easily more now not sure why. I don't take any meds I just cope with it. If I am driving somewhere and get lost I start to panic its a very scary situation for me. Most of the time its the other side of town I get lost on. I try to stay calm but doesn't always work tho..

Meditation and yoga are really helpful. In terms of medication, I like to go the natural route. Camomile is good at calming my nerves. However, everyone suffers from anxiety differently and it takes on many faces, so if you feel like it's getting out of control or affecting areas in your life in a very negative way, I would see a doctor.

I do meditation for my Anxiety and I find it helps

I always suffered depression, but two years ago I developed extreme anxiety and lately it became Agoraphobia.

I resisted taking medication for so long, telling myself I could be 'strong'. Due to the stigma in our society about medication (reflected in the media too), I didn't want to be 'weak' and 'rely' on something. Which I know now is total rubbish of course.

Your brain chemistry is usually damaged when you develop severe mental illness, and sometimes pills are the only thing that can help.

When I started taking Effexor the first time it was like a breath of fresh air, suddenly I felt like me again. Lately, however it is not working anymore and my depression is getting worse.

The thing with medication is, you have to find the right dose and the right combination of sometimes multiple. Side effects can make you feel like you made the wrong choice, but keep in mind it can take six weeks to settle into the meds.

What I'm saying is, consult your doctor, try to trust them and take it slowly and in time you will improve. You can message me at lornaswebster at gmail dot com if you ever need to talk as I know how hard it can be!

If you don't mind me asking, what meds do you take? I'm currently on Effexor, but looking to change over the next couple of months or supplement it as it's not working like it was.

I've heard good thngs about wellbutrin.

Haha I read that as medication, not meditation. Whoops! Never mind!

That is a very low dose!

I've had people straight up tell me to my face that depression and other mental illnesses don't exist. Those people are dumb.

But your brain controls everything you do and if you can't trust your brain...what can you do? You have to trust a doctor to help. It can be very hard.
