Cure for dry lips

With the cold weather starting in Canada, my lips always become really dry.

I was wondering if anyone has any natural remedies to help with dry and chapped lips.  Or does anyone have any specific lip balm (brand) that works best?  I would love to hear!

My remedies!

I have a Nivea Essential lip balm that I have with me at work. When my lips are dry throughout the day I apply it. I also like using Vaseline as I find it puts a nice barrier on your lips and water does not remove it so easily.

Drinking a lot of water is useful, but I also enjoy using either Nivea products or Blistex. I find that both get the job done!

Vaseline & Nivea

I like to use Vaseline- I find it nice and simple and it moisturizes my lips without making them feel chapped if I don't continue to apply the lip balm. I also like Nivea a lot-- they have a lot of different product options to try.

I enjoyed reading other people's suggestions- I may need to try some of these new products you all suggested.

I agree with some of the other posts on here, that Nivea is the way to go! It's inexpensive and really effective in the winter time (sometimes I'll forget it in my car in the winter and it still works frozen!!!) Once your lips aren't chapped anymore and have healed, I'd recommend using a bit of Vaseline a couple times a day to prevent the chapping from happening again. However, I will say that once it gets really cold, the Vaseline can harden a bit on your lips, which can be uncomfortable sometimes.

I recently purchased squalane from The Ordinary and am slightly nervous to use an oil on my face so I started trying it out on my lips at night. It has been wonderful. My lips and the skin around them is nicely hydrated and super soft.

Burts bees

I like the burts bees, the original one and loving the Clarins lip oil as well. Go between the two all winter, no more dry lips.

I love to use a lip scrub before applying lip balm as I find it much more soothing and prevent chapped lips, I like to use Blistex for lip balm and lush lip scrub.
