Thank You

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement in the community forum, guestbook, throughout social media and into my email... The incredible CiC kept me around.
I'm back online and slowly setting up new profiles as "HappyEastCoastr". You probably now see that my profile name is a bit ironic at times - but, that's the point. I'm always fighting to be just that: a Happy human. Sometimes I win. Sometimes depression wins.
While I'm still wading through the darkness; ChickAdvisor once again, has been a lighthouse. I am so grateful to be part of this community.
Thanks again and Much Love to all.. xo

Happy To Hear

Oh good, I knew the CIC would have kept you around and I'm glad they did.

I suffer from depression as well and the trick is NOT to let it win. I know it's hard, but I'm glad to are still on here.

I was serious when I told you I like to read your posts. Your posts always have a positive vibe to it and I like that. :)

oh wow... you all brought tears to my eyes - in a good way! Thank you so much. It's so good to be here. The last whisp of darkness washed away at reading your replies. I'm so grateful. Thanks, ladies!

jujusamples: You have been such an awesome example from day one of my time here. It's always nice reading your words too. You are always so positive too and I'm glad you are able to be open with your own depression... It helps being able to be open about it - for too many years mine was kept a secret from the world. I think you are right, the trick is to not let it win... but when that fails, the next trick is to get up, get showered and move forward... annnd sometimes shower again because - wow.. Depression stinks!

Staff - Jenn & Ali: Seeing that you took the time to read, reply and send me nice thoughts was such a gift that I can't even explain... A new FB profile was created and your Team was the first to be there and that in itself spoke volumes. You make me feel like I exist. Thank you.

DEANENE: Thank you for speaking up about your own depression...it's not an easy thing to admit. Mine has been with me since childhood - that, PTSD and what my doc now tells me is called "Developmental Trauma Disorder"... It only took more than three decades to finally get an appropriate diagnosis...To be fair, the disorder itself was only "discovered" by the powers that be just in the last five years. Anyhow thanks to the depression and PTSD, I've been on more than a few meds for twenty years. But, sometimes they just quit working and I take a nosedive into the darkness til they kick back in and I'm able to sputter along again in a forward-like motion. The community here does a great job of lifting me up and I'm really glad the CiC gave me the chance to stay.. I tried to delete my profile - but was given the time to think it over - something none of the other panels or social media channels offered.. Now I have to start with fresh new channels. Back to zero on the connection count. It's both refreshing and daunting. Challenge accepted. haha.

danaorgnero: Thank you!! It's good to be back. I'll have to get some reviews posted as soon as I'm settled back in online. :)

coultlee: Thank you! It's good to be back. I'll be posting throughout the community and adding reviews just as soon as I get my social media channels up and running. :)

Hey sweetie, I was wondering where you were! I'm happy to see you're back and feeling a bit better. You might remember awhile back I was pretty broken up about my husband leaving and I disappeared from Chick Advisor (from everything, really). Sometimes you need to check out for a bit and that's fine. Just know that we're always here for you :)
I have PTSD too and if you don't care for yourself properly things can become very dark at times. If you ever want to chat here or privately just let me know. I think we're connected on some of my other social media sites but I can give you my Facebook info.
I help Admin a Facebook PTSD page and I belong to a few others if you'd like me to give you the links. You're definitely not alone. This diagnosis can feel like a life sentence, but it doesn't have to be. There are many things you can do to help ease the difficulties we're faced with; one of them is being here with some really awesome ladies and the Chicks in Charge. Chick Advisor is a great way to bring some light into your life :)
I think you're super brave for talking about this. PTSD and the resulting depression / anxiety, etc that often accompanies it is nothing to feel ashamed about (for you or anyone else reading this).
Take care :) I'm happy to see you back!
