Are you active?

I retired at the end of May last year and am finally starting to feel better about myself. I go to an aquabics class 3 times a week at the pool. It’s a nice group of people most friendly. When the weather is better I will start walking.

My 2 cents

Now with the quarantine, I like to walk for an hour around my neighborhood and do weights, leg exercises and use a weighted hula hoop daily.

During lockdown we have been allowed in the UK to walk for excercise once a day. I have been aiming most days to walk 5k and have even walked over 9k on some of my walks. I stick to local green spaces so I can social distance.

I've been trying to keep active. This quarantine hasn't really been helping. But I do try to go for two walks daily and I do yoga in the morning. Before this I used to go to Aqua Fit at the rec center. I actually lost almost 10 lbs.

before quarantine i had a gym membership so i was at the gym... now that i'm home i have some at home equipment. I use the stationary bike for a little cardio. Aside from that i usually do some fitness videos on youtube. Popsugar fitness is one of my favs.

I take walks as I can't go the gym right now to keep my mind clear.

Damn, I wish!

I keep trying to be active. I have tried yoga a few times and really like it.... I just feel like I'm never doing it properly. I recently got a bike and have road it a few times. It was easier than I've expected... I have low stamina and long compacity.

Through this quarantine I have been doing my best to stay active. I’ve started some exercise programs that are free through YouTube. I also do my best to go on walks throughout the day. It is hard some days to stay motivated but it’s really about pushing yourself to do it.

Hell Yeah!

I recently went through a very bad 2-year episode of semi-agoraphobia. I say semi-agoraphobia because I could manage to go out with my daughter and/or son-in-law but rarely alone. During this time I noticed that I gained about 15 pounds due to stress eating and not going out for walks just to take a little exercise. I started doing some walking workouts that were posted on Youtube but it took me a while to find the "right" trainer - someone who took into consideration that some people might be beginners or who haven't worked out in a long time. After a lot of trial and error (and lots of sore muscles lol) I finally found Lucy Wyndham-Read. She has around 500 videos posted on Youtube that vary from absolute beginners to those who are used to working out regularly. All you really need is comfortable work out clothing, a yoga mat for doing floor exercises and a positive attitude. She never talks down to you or treats you like your an absolute loser if you skip a day or can't do the entire routine the first time around. She also posts really good tips about healthy eating and keeping a positive outlook on your fitness journey. I give her a big 10 out of 10! :)
