Does anyone suffer from Depression?

Hi My name is Candice! I’m new to this site! I know that people really don’t want to talk about depression or other mental issues, but the more we put a spotlight on the subject the more people learn! I have had depression since I was 10. I was diagnosed with Bipolar when I was 24. I also suffer from anxiety and PTSD. There are days when I can leave the house! Does anyone else relate?

I personally do not suffer from depression, however my daughter and husband do.

I totally agree that we need TO LEARN SO MUCH MORE ABOUT depression and other mental health issues.

Thank you so much for this thread because I am sure that many people would love to share their personal struggles!

Veola It definitely is a hard life!

Medication has a wide range of side effects! One minute you feel ok the next you want to jump out of you skin! I have been on every medication under the sun! With each new medication I gained 25 pounds. It’s a very delicate balance when it comes to the brain. When the anxiety hits, for me personally I freeze still! I can’t move and I cry. It’s very important to have a support group or a supportive system! Which I do not, so I go through this alone. When someone stops medication especially for anxiety, you can have seizures! I know this because it happened to me, 3 Grand mall seizures which are the worst seizures you can suffer! Some people can go off meds slowly without that happening! It’s called tapering off. If she has control over her anxiety that is an amazing congratulations to her! Truth be told anxiety is 80% breathing 20% mental, you can breathe through an attack! I hope she continues to do well! If anyone has questions please feel free to ask!

You are definitely not alone!

I have depression, GAD, and was recently diagnosed with PTSD. It can be a scary world to live in, but I am thankful for my therapist, and my prescriptions. They all help me a better mom, wife, and teacher.

Well done for being brave and speaking out, being open about mental health. Depression and associated illnesses are nothing to be ashamed about. I too have suffered from depression, sometimes to the point I went down the medication route. About 8 months after losing someone dearly close to me I had a breakdown which resulted in me going onto an out-patient treatment programme, which changed the way family spoke to me / approached me. I think I 'snapped' because either I'd been bottling it up or others didn't want to listen to how I felt / how I was dealing with losing my loved one. Seeking medical help enabled me to get my disorder under control and put a support system in place though.

I heard modafinil is good for depression as well. So far I'm trying to cope without meds, but I started reading articles and maybe it's time to see a therapist.

mental illnesses

Mental illnesses are more common than everyone thinks. For some reason people don't like to talk about it a lot, like there is shame in being sick.

I personally know two people with the mental illnesses and both of them don't admit there is something wrong with them. I think that's a first and most important step - to realize that there is an issue. Second - if it is getting worse you need to sick for medical help and definitely talk to someone about it. If doctor prescribes you meds it is easier to find them in online pharmacy than check in the actual pharmacies and wasting time in the queue.

Yeah, sometimes I feel that I have depression, but I'm always trying to switch my thoughts. Sometimes it's really difficult

Do you take medication? I have anxiety as well, but I don't remember the last time I experienced panic attacks because I started taking Delta 9 gummies from Hometown Hero, so I think you should find the right product for you and forget about anxiety as well, just contact your doctor and tell about your condition. I'm sure that a specialist will help you feel better.
