    Sleek and powerful

I have been using this laptop for roughly 5 years now, and it has been great! The battery life of course has decreased but it can still last 3-4 hours without a charger. The processing power is still great, and unlike other laptops, the fan does not get too loud. This is great for students, or just anyone trying to work on the go!

It pays back its worth ten fold for me!

The MacBook Pro is the BEST laptop I’ve ever had, really the best computer. I’ve had it for almost 7 years and it works just as well as the day I bought it! As a student I am usually using a lot of apps/tabs at once and it keeps up well without lag or any slowing. For a safe and secure laptop that can maintain its use overtime this is with the investment

    love love love

I love the MacBook pro. I got it in silver and it’s been working amazing. I’ve had it for about 4 years now and it’s in great condition and everything works just as well as it did when I first bought it. It is very fast which I love and very easy to fit into a backpack so that I can take it to school. Overall, a very good laptop. Definitely should check it out if you’re looking for a new laptop.

Easy to use and very fast!

I love my MacBook pro, it is super user friendly and very fast. I am able to use split screen when I am doing homework which makes studying so much easier. If your on the fence I would definitely get one!

Once you go Mac, you never go back.

I switched to Apple in 2007 (from Windows) and have never looked back. The MacOS ecosystem is so intuitive to use, their trackpads work better than any I've ever used (performance, functionality, etc) and the actual laptop itself is aesthetically pleasing.

When I initially switched, there were a ton of things that weren't optimized for the Apple products, but I've seen that change dramatically in the past few years. I no longer have to boot into Windows as often (I've bootcamped my laptop so that I can run Windows when needed), because I have less need to use programs that only work on Windows OS.

    Lasts forever

I bought my MacBook Pro more than five years ago and it works great. The battery lasts for a long time and there are no problems with it. I recommend it for anyone going into high school.

    Couldn't be without it.

I absolutely love my macbook pro, it is so fast, had no issues at all, the battery life is fantastic and the usability is great. 👍 I just hope it lasts as long as my last one did!

    DO YOUR RESEARCH!

I purchased a refurbished late 2016 model with 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD storage after I accidentally spilled a bit of wine on my 2014 model. I was told that the logic board + some other part of the computer needed to be repaired and the cost would be in excess of $1000 as I was out of Apple Care. I decided to bite the bullet and invest in a new computer. Before dropping >$2,500 on a new laptop, I decided to do some research to ensure that my money was well-spent. Thank goodness I did so, and extensively. I talked to my "techie" friends, read articles online, and went into the Apple Store to inspect the current models available. During my research, I found out that the 2016 model with the TouchBar,and all 2017 and 2018 models of the MBP have the SSD soldered onto the logic board (Apple's version of the motherboard). This is NOT GOOD. What it means is that if the logic board or SSD fails, both pieces of hardware fail. It means that if the logic board breaks or malfunctions, you will not be able to access your data. Now I understand why people at the Genius Bar have been pushing people to back-up their computers to an external hard drive and the cloud regularly. This is why. When something went awry with my 2014 MBP which does not have the SSD soldered onto the logic board, they replaced the logic board (>$700 repair) free of charge as it was under Apple Care and the SSD was not impacted. I did not lose any of my files. Fast forward 2 years and after spilling wine on my MBP, while the logic board was damaged, I was able to get the SSD removed at the Genius Bar. All my files are still on the SSD. I was able to get everything back. (side note - I also had a back-up from the same day on my external hard drive, and the cloud. I encourage everyone to backup as much as possible).

Either be prepared to accept the risk of an SSD or logic board failure leading to failure of both pieces of hardware, or get yourself a refurbished 2016 model of the MBP without a TouchBar. It still comes with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty and it is still eligible for Apple Care (3 years). I own a MacBook Air from late 2011 that was purchased refurbished in 2012 or 2013. I never had any issues that required me to make an Apple Care claim. I still use this MBA; it's hooked up to my TV. It still works perfectly fine, it just doesn't have a powerful enough chip or enough storage for the type of computing I do nowadays.

A finaly note, there is no way to unsolder the SSD from the logic board. This means that if you want to replace the SSD, you won't be able to. You previously could do so with most Apple laptops. You can still do so with most other computers. It is something that most people will never do, but it is very important to some individuals.
