Good plant-based alternative to butter

Becel Plant-Based Bricks are a good alternative to traditional butter. The brick taste quite similar to butter - a little less rich and creamy, but otherwise not too different. When baking, it doesn’t affect the flavour too much. However, if you are making flaky baked goods, than the bricks aren’t as good as butter because the bricks have a lower melting point. It works well for things like cookies though. Overall, it’s a good product if you’re looking to replace butter with a plant-based product. #gotitfree #familyrated

Looks and Acts Just Like Butter

I would buy this product again. It looks and actions just like butter. I used it to make mashed potatoes, and it tasted the same. No one was able to tell that I used something different.

Becel salted plant based bricks

I received a free sample of the Becel salted plant based bricks. I baked cookies with my sample and was very happy with the results. The taste and texture was the same as butter. The only negative comment was the fact that my sample was salted and I normally use unsalted butter. I found it a bit more difficult to adjust the amount of salt but would definitely recommend the product as a great substitution to butter.

There are better alternatives

I received this product a try for free in exchange for my honest review. I am not vegan or vegetarian but I do try to avoid dairy when possible because my skin hates it. This product is a plant-based butter substitute. In regular terms, it’s margarine. While it is convenient to have in stick or block form, the taste of this is just average. It has a bland/ stale aftertaste when you eat it on its own. Think of the taste of old oil. You can tell that it is an oil based product. The pros: it has a nice amount of salt to it, it melts normally, it’s easier to measure out when baking vs in tub form, and it bakes well overall. I just think for the price, it doesn’t taste as good as other margarines on the market. I don’t think I’d buy this in the future.

Becel - Always Good!

Took a while to find the product, available almost nowhere, especially during COVID stocking issues.
Product is good I did not end up baking with it, but used it as I would normally, as butter on the standard toast, bagels and bread products. Great on banana bread. Sizzled a steak and shrimp. Great product just as good and healthier than butter. However accessibility and price will make me wait to buy it again.

Good flavour

I liked the texture of this product. It’s really nice and creamy. You probably could of fooled me and said it was butter. I will be buying this when I can as a healthy substitute.

For plant based peeps this is heaven

So I was a little skeptical to try this in the beginning, but now that I have, it’s great. It doesn’t taste quite like butter, it’s mostly oil, but the texture and it toasts bread perfectly!!! I would recommend

I got this product free. Itried it for the first time ever and absolutely loved it. It is a definite buy. I already have recommended it to family, friends and coworkers. They too have bought it.

A nice alternative to traditional butter

I quite enjoyed baking with Becel plant based. I used it in my cinnamon buns and it gave a great flavor to the rolls. It was easy to work with and I likes the stick format. Thanks Chick Advisor for letting me try it out!

Amazing Plant-Bases Product

I got this item as a free trial to be reviewed from chickadvisor. The first thing I loved about this product is that it came in stick, it made life easier when it comes to measuring it for baking or sealing it back on if we don’t use the whole stick. It had great consistency as opposed to other plant-based butters or margarines, it didn’t leave a weird after taste. It got really soft fast after taking it out of the fridge for a little while. It had a weird sour smell in the beginning but when I tasted it, it didn’t taste sour, it tasted like regular butter. I tried both salted and unsalted and I like the unsalted one better. For the price and ingredients and the thought that it is plant based, I will definitely purchase it again.
