Deep Viola is Byredo’s newest fragrance for 2020 and it celebrates the beauty and sensuality of violet flowers in a quiet yet seductive way.

Byredo Deep Viola explores the intensity of deep evening violets, scents which have marked many a generation. It was Shakespeare who said "A violet is the youth of primary nature." The line he wrote in Hamlet went on to ignite an endless love of the purple flowers amongst many generations to come.

Byredo’s aim has been to capture the effervescent characteristics of this flower in a bottle, with an extraordinary show of violet flowers. A layering of violets with saffron on top and an incense base to orchestrate a scent that’s sensuous, deep and distinctive.

Top notes: Saffron, Angelica seed and Bergamot
Base notes: oud, frankincense and vanilla
Middle notes: Violet, leather and Iris


At £170 for 100ml and exclusive only to Harrods in London Byredo’s Deep Viola is one of the more premium niche fragrances . It is very pricey hence the lack of stars for value.
