I bought this lip balm in the cherry flavour as I have heard that it can smell a little medicine-y if you buy the original. I also chose the cherry because it has SPF 15 which the original doesn’t (on the other hand, original says it provides relief of cold sores so it has its own benefits supposedly…)
I like it a lot. I had that frustrating dryness to my lips that no amount of exfoliating and obsessive moisturizing seems to fix (THANKS Canadian winters!) but Carmex really did the job. Only a few applications and my lips were nice and soft. And there is a touch of menthol in it, which I always love in soothing lip balms.
I've used this lip balm a couple times.
I use Softlips Vanilla flavored lip balm now,
but when I did use Carmex, it helped with my chapped lips best when I left it on at night.
& when I woke up, my lips would be smoother.
My husband loves this stuff. i also love it kees lips from getting chapped, if you can overcome the nasty taste it is a great product.
I think that carmex refreshes your chapped lips. But it definately doesn't get rid of cold sores or anything like that. Once you use the stuff you find yourself constantly putting more on.
Although not my favorite, my other half certainly likes it and always keeps one in his pocket. Since we're both prone to chap lips throughout the year this is my fall back product when I run out of ChapIce.
I like this product, but I prefer it in stick form. It keeps my lips moisturized for a long time, with a nice, neutral smell and taste. And it's usually less than $1 at Dollar General, can't beat that! :)
