Fresh Banana Bread

This pound cake tastes like a fresh banana bread that is slightly more dense in texture. I have only ever eaten this cake after it has been warmed in the microwave for 20- 30 seconds. The cake is very dense and almost has a bit of a spongy feel to it once it has been warmed. The banana taste comes through a lot. I felt like I was eating a bread that was made using sweet bananas. There is a nice sweetness to this almost as if there is some honey in the pound cake. This is a good treat.

Banana Taste Is Too Light

My dad often buys these at Metro. There are a variety of flavour options, such as mixed fruit, almond, and banana. They are decently priced and come with eight fairly thick slices, though the end slices tend to be a bit thinner.

The banana cake has a dense, crumbly texture. If you microwave the cake, however, the texture becomes moist and bouncy. I like to microwave mine for 15-20 seconds. The banana flavour is more prominent when the cake is warmed. I do wish there was a stronger banana flavour, though, as there is only a mild note of banana in the cake. Generally, this tastes like a vanilla pound cake with a hint of banana.
