This product didn't really work for me. My hair is naturally really dark brown so whenever I dye my hair it is usually to lighten it. My roots grew out so I tried to use this to dye my hair lighter. Well, it didn't turn out any lighter and in fact didn't change my color AT ALL. It's probably because this is to dye your hair darker. I also got this on sale (like a two for one deal) so maybe this product has been sitting on the shelf for too long so it lost its effectiveness? I'm not sure but it did not work for me.

I tried the Root Touch-up after my stylist recommended it! I don't want to spend $100 every 6 weeks for a touch up so she said to try it. I did and it's great! I now use it once or twice between colours and cuts and it blends perfectly and looks great. I'd recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to shell out the big bucks just for a touch up!

I've never ever coloured my hair by myself, so the hype about it being easy and fast attracted me. My mother actually purchased it for me and before going back to college I thought I'd try it.

I had the very lightest blonde colour and my hair is a dark blonde-verging on light brown, I guess. The box for the regular colour that can come in a two-in-one package (one box to dye the whole shebang, one for touching up your roots later) pretty much indicated that my hair would come out quite blonde, and if it was even a close match but not exact I would be happy.

It WAS easy to do, but even leaving it in for longer - because I could SEE that it wasn't half as light as it should be - didn't do it. My roots are now as root-ey as ever, though slightly lighter and people comment that it's "At least closer to the blonde; it's not as harsh a difference between the two now."

Yeah, okay, but that's not what I paid for. When I went out shopping again I looked for a lighter blonde... And there isn't one. I'm s--- out of luck, as they say. I may try doing it AGAIN, on TOP of the lightened roots, but there HAS to be a better solution.

The application brush was pretty handy though; wish I'd kept it so I could use some other product and get right in to the roots. Mostly, though, after doing my hairline by my forehead and around my head, I just massaged the stuff in with my gloved hands... So moving away from this product wouldn't be terrible at all. Just wish I could get the results from it.

Maybe just not for lightening hair?

This is so handy in a pinch. My hair grows so fast, I'd need to be at the salon twice a month to keep up with my roots... which sadly also have a lot of grey in them. In the past, I've purchased whatever home hair colour kit happens to be on sale at shoppers that matches my hair, and applied it at the roots only. After trying this kit with the handy little brush, it's so much easier than the way I was doing it. I got this from a Clairol event and just tried it two shampoos ago. Overall, I quite like it. Here's my breakdown:

    Pros:
    * Love the little plastic tray. You pour the formula in, mix it up and then dip the brush in and begin applying. This is MUCH easier than using the tip of the bottle and blending with your fingers.

    * Coverage is excellent

    * Truly only takes 10 minutes to set once applied. I did this in the morning before work and wasn't late.

    * The formula gives your hair a silky texture even though you only apply it with the roots.

    * There is a good amount of formula. I have a lot of hair (on a fairly sizeable head) and I don't think I used even half of it.

    Cons:

    * The smell really took me by surprise. When you use a bottle instead of an open tray, the scent isn't as strong. However this wasn't a factor once I washed it out.

    * There is no conditioner with the kit. The conditioning treatment is one of the best parts of a hair dye kit in my opinion.

Whenever I colour my hair at home, I always shampoo it out. They always tell you not to, but I like the whole head clean feeling. I sometimes feel that doing that strips the colour a little bit, but not with this one.

I would definitely use this again and recommend it!

My hairstylist told me to get this clear gloss to repair the crazy damage on my blonde hair. It's AMAZING!!!!! It's a $60 service at a hair salon but only $10! Make sure you get the CLEAR. And the conditioner is like crack for hair, it makes my hair silky and shiny. Which is saying a lot seeing as I have processed blonde hair that is prone to dryness. GO BUY IT!

I was very skeptical of this product. My hair is red (natural colour is dark auburn but my roots come in dark and/or grey), and I get it done professionally (after years of doing it myself without ever getting the colour I really wanted). I had actually bought it over a year ago, and finally tried it almost exactly a year to the date that I bought it (the receipt was still in the bag). I was afraid that it would be too obvious or be too different a colour, or that it would somehow mess up the beautiful red that the hairdresser gives me (or make it harder to maintain my red).

Well - was I pleasantly surprised!!!!! I used this product and was SO impressed with the results!! What a GREAT way of tiding you over until the next visit to the hairdresser. It even covers the grey!! We all know it's not cheap to go there; if I could achieve the same colour at home, I would. But now I can make my visits to the hair salon a little less often.

You will NOT be disappointed by this product... so try it if you've been considering it!

January 26, 2010 - I tried this product again, and again I am impressed at the way it covers the roots and grey, while transitioning in well with the rest of my hair colour. I personally found there was too much product - next time I would use half and save the second half for the next month. The point of this root touch-up is to just apply it to the most noticeable areas, i.e., where you usually part your hair, at the front/side hairline and temples. I don't think the point is to do all your roots as if you were touching up your haircolour, i.e., apply, comb a new part about 1/2 inch over, apply, comb a new part... you get the idea. It's about the same cost as regular hair colour though, which I find unreasonable considering you get half the amount of product. To me, that's the only downside.

I dye my hair a lot. Recently, my friend (who's a hair stylist) has been applying foils to my hair to make it blonde, which I love, but my hair grows really fast! So fast that almost a month after the original application, I have to have it dyed again because the roots are so embarassing and sloppy in my opinion.

My stylist friend suggested to try Nice 'n Easy's Root Touch Up product if I'm just looking to touch up the roots and not the color. I was skeptical because I didn't know if it would be two completely different looking colors and throw off the whole color of the hair, so I did a strand test just to make sure and it appeared to look natural enough.

So I used the product for the whole head and boy oh boy was I surpised at how well it worked. For $7.50 I didn't have to have my hair dyed again and the roots blend in perfectly with the rest of the hair just as Nice 'n Easy promised it would.

My only complaint was that there was not enough dye, I ran out after covering the most visible root areas. Luckily it doesn't look splotchy, a 1/4 more dye would have been a heck of a lot more helpful. I highly recommend this if you're in love with the color of your overall hair and are just looking for a quick touch up!

I was on a neverending quest to find the perfect dark brown shade that won't fade, and I finally found it with this product. I was amazed to see the blend of three tones, and it really added some dimension and shine to my hair. And it won't fade, EVER! I use to wash my hair everyday because they get oily so fast, but unlike other brands, the colour never faded.
