Great product

Although not vegan , I'm trying to reduces the amount of animal product that I buy. While , vegan mayo and margarine where totally the same and I had zero complaint about them , vegan cheese is kind of really noticeable . It's not that it taste bad it's simply that it could not be a true replacement for real dairy cheese. It is good has what it is and offer a great alternative . Just don't go into it thinking it's going to be a single's kraft slice. It is also more pricey for less quantity

I've heard quite a few people say it's not good, those people are wrong, this cheese is delicious! Melts nicely when making a grilled cheese sandwich. Goes great with sandwiches. Just wish there were more slices in the pack and price was lower.

Great tasting cheese substitute

I absolutely love Daiya cheese. We are a vegan/vegetarian mix in my home and this is perfect. No more missing out on grilled cheese with tomato soup. This cheese doesn't have a "fake" flavor to it, it smells amazing, and even stretches. So much healthier than regular cheese and the taste is amazing. Many vegetarian cheeses have casein, which is derived from milk, so it is not vegetarian (leaving my daughter out). With Daiya, everyone is included and can enjoy their food as a family. I would definitely recommend.

I use this all the time and I would totally buy this product again. It tastes amazing and is perfect on anything! I recommend anyone that's reading this to try it! You wont regret it :)

A good alternative

I've slowly been cutting dairy out of my diet and cheese was the last to go because I love it and didn't think I could live without it. This cheese is the best replacement for actual cheese. It melts in grill cheese sandwiches and on pizza perfectly and has a good cheesy taste. I have tried a bunch of others but this is the best so far.

This is an amazing product for people allergic to Milk protein or lactose intolerant. It melts like real milk cheese, can use it to make everything that you use other cheese on. My son has discovered it makes amazing grill cheese sandwiches.

Just eating it before melted it tastes very similar to cheddar. When it is melted, I think it is indistinguishable. The best part about using Daiya cheddar is that when I put it in casseroles, I don't get the grease factor that cheddar cheese gives me, I just get the flavour.

DAIYA IS LIFE. Thank you Daiya. Best vegan cheese on the market. I use it for nachos, on pasta, on burgers, in tacos. It's key to make it hot enough to melt, though. We always have at least two flavors of Daiya in the fridge.

I am dairy intolerant, so I really appreciate the Daiya products because they offer such a wide variety of dairy-free (and gluten-free) options. Having said that, their cheese is not my favourite.


This cheddar has a very strong, very sharp flavour to it. It doesn't really taste like any kind of real cheese I've had, and certainly takes some getting used to. I also find that it leaves a taste in your mouth afterwards.


The shelf life for this cheese is not very good. It says that it's best eaten within 7 days of opening the package, which I always do, but I find that it gets extremely wet. It's not mouldy, but it's just kind of off-putting.


This cheese tends to crumble and fall apart quite easily. It melts decently, but at the same time, it doesn't melt like a real cheese would.


I love other Daiya products, but this one is not for me.

As someone who has a dairy allergy this product is the best of its kind on the market. Tastes and smells good, actually melts. Soy-free which I love! I cannot wait to see and try more products by daiya!
