One of my go-to cleansing oil

This product is one that I continue to repurchase even after trying other cleansing oils. This is a gentle method of removing makeup including ones that are waterproof which limits the amount of tugging and rubbing on your skin which may cause irritation.

While it is on the pricey end and I often have to purchase this online as only a few stores carry it in my area (often at a marked up price), I still find it worthy to purchase. It is extremely efficient at removing waterproof products, it emulsifies beautifully and rinses easily without stripping your skin of its natural oils. It is olive-oil based and I have had no adverse reaction to the product in the many years I have been using it. This is also one of the few cleansing oils that does not cause stinging in my eyes.

Although pricey, because of its effectiveness, I find a bottle lasts me a while as you only need 3-4 pumps of the product to fully cleanse your face.

90% olive oil

I have really dry skin and like using natural products so I was hopeful that this deep cleansing oil what's something that I would like. Unfortunately the Rosemary scent and the olive oil face made it feel more like I was putting cooking ingredients on my face then anything else. I will give it high marks for being a very effective makeup remover without a lot of chemicals in it but not as a cleanser as others have mentioned they felt like washing their face afterwards. I will not be purchasing this product but I'm thankful that I had a chance to use one of their samples which they were so kind to me it to me.

Classic for good reason

In some ways this is the Chanel no.5 of the oil cleansing world because it's a classic but it's not for everyone. You either love it or you hate it.

I like how its thick, rich texture has staying power during long facial massages, and I like how quickly it emulsifies with water, then rinses away cleanly. My only issue is the price because $35CAD for 200mL is a bit steep. Though it does stand up well against higher priced luxury cleansers.

Would recommend and repurchase again

I have purchased DHC cleansing oil several times. It removes all traces of makeup gently and effectively. I have tried several other cleansing oils including the stonecrop one from eminence and a variety from etsy. All the others are nice but I find this one does not ever break me out or have a fragrance that bothers me. It constantly does what I need it to with just one pump. I use this first followed by my la Roche posay hydrating cleanser. This allows me to use my nightly acne prescriptions. I also have a friend at work hooked on this product.

Can't live without this product

A hard-core fan of the DHC cleansing oil here. While I've never used the more expensive Shu Uemura cleansing oil that this is apparently a dupe of, I can say that this product helped balance out the dry and oily patches of skin I had been battling with my entire life. I was also wary of serums, due to my patchy oily spots, and had never endured prolonged facial oil use because the first few greasy days always made me stop. This was the perfect solution. The oily cleanser easily rubs off makeup, and then rinses off just as easily. I use it only at night, and only followed up by a wash with my regular cleanser. Honestly, this stuff is a life-saver. I regularly get complimented on how dewy and glowy my skin looks.

I have used this stuff for years

I started using this when I was 22 and loved it then. I went back to it a few years ago and it's still just as good. I love the way that it removes my waterproof mascara and all traces of everything else. It doesn't dry my skin out and gives my skin a nice glow.

Love love love this

I started using this cleansing oil about four years ago and have not stopped since. IT is by far my favorite cleansing oil I have tried and I get compliments on my skin all the time. I use once at night, followed by toner and moisturizer, and then no washing it the morning. It is AMAZING.

Amazing product

At first, the idea of putting oil on oily skin seemed quite absurd. Yet, this product proved it wrong. If used according to directions, it does remove make up and clean the skin very effectively. Being somewhat obsessed by cleanliness (as an owner of oily skin), I occasionally use traditional soapy cleanser afterwards. But for most people, it would probably be unnecessary, as the skin feels clean and soft to the touch just after the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. When on sale, price is decent.

bought this stuff in japan and fell in love!! super gentle on your skin and magically takes all the residue off. for the price it is such a good deal.

This was the first cleansing oil I ever tried. Since then I have tried several cleansing oils, both drugstore and high end, and for some reason I keep coming back to this one. I find it to be one of the most effective products at removing makeup - even the stubborn waterproof makeup.

There are several reasons why I prefer this over other cleansing oils despite the price. Firstly, I like that it has an olive oil base and has a short ingredients list - this makes me more confident that there are less chemicals added to this product. Olive oil by itself is wonderful at removing makeup but I find it way too thick to be applying on my face in addition to it being difficult to wash off. With the DHC cleansing oil, it's a more diluted solution. After applying it on the face, I slowly add water and continue rubbing it in until the oil starts to emulsify. Then I just wash it off with water afterwards. I still go in with a gentle cleanser after just to make sure all cleansing oil residues are removed (also known as a 2-step cleansing method).

I don't really mind the scent. It smells like olive oil which is a scent more tolerable than the artificial smells that accompanied other cleansing oils I've tried. This products makes makeup removal easy and quick. There's no need to use cotton pads or spend more time removing heavy makeup around the eyes. I just apply it all over my face and it removes all the makeup at once.

The main reason why I keep coming back to this cleansing oil is due to it being the most gentle on my eyes. My eyes are extremely sensitive and this is one of the few products that doesn't leave me looking like I have pink eye after using it.

I have already repurchased this product a few times and will continue to do so.
