I dislike the smell of this soap a lot. I found it very thick and hard to wash off.

Left my skin dry & itchy. Felt I had residue left on.

I don't feel clean, it feels like an oil all over my body!! it's the worst I ever tried!!

I have oil/dry skin combo, so I was very excited to try a different soap, that has been around awhile, and look so promising. As per usual, my morning routine is washing my face. I do admit that after a few days, my face did feel softer. It was around this time I noticed a patch of a rash on my left cheekbone. At my age(54)acne is rare, still using the dove, I saw that the patch was spreading. I knew at once, it must be the Dove Soap. I immmediatly started using my old soap, and within days the rash dissapeared, I gave the rest of the Dove Soap to my younger sister, who was very happy with it.

The smell is great but it leaves residue on much skin and I do not feel clean after I use it..

I received this a little over a week ago, and usually I am quick with reviewing products after a couple of days of trying them - however, I ran into some problems.

I just wanted to say that one product can affect people in many different ways - good or bad. So don't expect to love this soap just because someone else does. ... (: or hate it just because someone else does (:

First off, I am not a person who loves strong scented soaps - which to me, this soap was - it was VERY perfumey.. I hated the smell of it. I thought it would smell very SOFT and gentle like other Dove soaps. But for me, it was a very harsh strong scent which I did not like at all. I have sensitive skin - and I think because of this, the strong scent dried out my skin on my face! So for me, I really didn't like this soap (but like I said before, products will not work the same on everyone! People can break out to certain products, while others wont!)

It lathered okay I guess.. usually I use Coconut bar soap from the Body Shop (and that's very lathery) but I was not impressed by how it lathered. It didn't feel smooth when I applied it to my face, like other soaps I have used, and when I rinsed it off I felt like I had residue on my face. This soap is definitely not the soap for me - I would not change it with my regular soap product (Body Shop products). My mom agreed with me about the scent too, she doesn't like it either. So I probably won't recommend this to my friends...

Now to explain the picture... I used this soap on my face in the shower - then I left it on my soap dish in the bottom of my shower. My dog comes inside every night (she's usually an outdoor dog) and she is a Australian Shepherd/Husky mix. I guess what had happened, is my dad let her wander around before putting her on her leash. She went into the shower and got a hold of my soap and hid it. Overnight, she gnawed on it (as you can see from the picture - the teeth marks). And I woke up to a wonderful pile of barf :D .. . . . lol. I actually ended up having to take her to the vet because she was extremely sick for 3 days and would not eat and barely drink; we assumed the soap was the culprit. Anyways, she's okay now. But that's why it took so long for me to write this review (lol).

So:
Me = not a big fan of this soap at ALL.
Dog = HUGE fan of this soap, and would probably eat it again if she could.

Oh my. I must be very unlucky :( I have always suffered from dry skin, but after only my first try with the Dove Original Beauty Cream Bar, my face felt very hot and an aweful rash happend. I didn't feel like trying it again.
