I prefer body wash and a buff puff for exfoliation instead of a bar soap. This one left me with the feeling that I had to wash again to get the film off. The scent was gentle and pleasant.

I used to love Dove. Now that I learnt that this product if full of dead animals, I am not buying it anymore...

I was somewhat disappointed with the soap! I was expecting my skin to feel a little softer afterwards.

Very strong sent, but I can't use bar soap, too drying for my skin.

This bar soap does not dry out skin as much as others do, however, there is still a level of dryness that you don't get when you use liquid soap.

Dove, as a beauty brand, has become synonymous with promoting “real” beauty. Their advertising campaigns have moved away from using commercial models with perfect skins (well, at least perfect skins after the computer has airbrushed them) and flowing locks to ads which use the woman in the street, lumps, bumps and all. So, with this different approach to beauty are the products any different? I first tried Dove’s beauty cream bar at my mum’s. Not known for her adventurous taste I was intrigued when I visited and found a white bar of soap in place of the usual Imperial Leather bars that have been used for years.

1. How was your overall experience with this Beauty Bar? I found that it worked as well as any beauty product but the smell was offputting.
2. How would you compare this Beauty Bar with your regular soap product? It definitely got more sudsy than my regular bar but i found that it didn't wash off as well.
3. Would you consider switching to make Dove; your usual beauty bar brand and/or recommend it to a friend?

Probably not. I realized I prefer the liquid soap format.

I found that the bar sudded well and I felt clean afterwards. My skin was soft after use but I found the smell a bit overwhelming. Our kids really liked that it sudded well.

I received the Dove Beauty Bars from the Chick Advisor Product Review Club. Thank you!! First off I have to say is that the fragrance was way too strong. Upon opening the box of soap, I could smell the over powering scent and did not like it at all. I am way more into fruity or floral fragrances.This just stunk. It lathers Ok and I am sure some will enjoy it, but I do not. Scent is everything to me. I would not recommend this Beauty Bar.
