I received these products free as part of ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club, thank you ladies!

I was really surprised when this parcel arrived, I was not expecting that many razors! Which in turn meant lots of testing and little excuse to not shave over the last few weeks ;) I had to be sure to use every last one of these so I could give a proper review of the products. Prior to this I had no idea there were so many different varieties of Venus Razors!

Just a little bit of a background of what I was using previous to these razors and my hair type/growth (for those interested)
I have been using men's razors for years now, since they have in the past performed much better than women's razors which I had previously used.
I have fairly fine hair, that does not grow back very quickly (probably need 4-6 days between shaves before I start seeing any re-growth) My hair also tends to grow in very sparsely and fine in texture

These razors that I had tested varied by blade count and different types of moisture/shave gel bars. I would have to say I preferred the 5 blade razors over the 3 blade. I found myself going over spots multiple times to try and get rid of the hair completely with the 3 blade razors, the 5 blade definitely did a better job but did require to go over the area more than once to get a close smooth shave. I love that these come in so many different varieties, there truly is something for every one with this line of products

In terms of the moisture/shave bars, I really liked the Venus Breeze (Pink) it smelled divine & didn't goop too much like some of the others while shaving. I like the idea of not having to prep my skin before shaving with either conditioner or baby oil (I don't use shaving gel), and my skin was surprisingly hydrated after I got out of the shower regardless of which razor was used. Usually my skin does dry out after shaving and I have to moisturise like crazy. The handles to me didn't make much of a difference but I did think it was pretty cool that you can swap out different tops with bottoms, it's fun but not completely necessary. I think they could improve a little on the little device that holds the razor to the handle, I had a couple of the heads fall off while in the shower but maybe I was being a little rough(?)

Overall I was impressed with the razors, they definitely will replace the spot of my usual man razor's for the time being as they do a pretty good job but I am not convinced that I would switch over to these just yet. I will definitely be sharing and recommending these to my friends as it was a good quality product at a fair price & in comparison to the other razors for women on the market I would say that these would be the best bang for your buck based on previous products I have used. I will definitely consider purchasing these in the future! Thank you ChickAdvisor team for this fantastic opportunity!

I received this razor a sample from Chick Advisor as part of the Review Club. I've always loved this 3 blade razor ever since they came out with it. It has ans will always be a go to when in need!
It has a great slip grip handle and the head is nice a smooth and follow the curves of your legs very well.

I have always found Gillette Razors to be great quality. It was really exciting to be chosen to participate in reviewing all these different Venus razors.

This Venus Original has 3 blades with thin moisture strips. It works well, as long as you apply shaving cream (or conditioner or soap) prior to shaving. The handle feels nice and has non-slip grip. I also like the shower hook and the second cartridge that came with the razor.

Unfortunately, I am a huge fan of gel/moisture bars so I am a bit bias. I started the review process using all the razors with the gel bars and I love Love LOVE them. In comparison to those razors, this Venus Original just doesn't give me to same warm fuzzy feeling after the shave. Plus I really think 5 blades work better than 3 blades.

In my opinion, I think it's worth the extra money to pay for, at the minimum, the extra 2 blades, if not the extra moisture/gel bars.

I am pretty faithful to my razor brand and have been using Schick Quatro for years now. I enjoy the sturdiness of the handle (it is heavy like a men’s razor), the dependability of the blades, and the convenient holder that attaches to your shower wall with suction cups. I will compare my experience with Venus Razors to my usual brand throughout my review. I should also mention that I use conditioner in place of shaving gel/cream when I shave, as this did affect my experience with some of the razors. I have organized my review into several categories based on the type of razor and the ease of use.

3 blades – Original Venus, Venus Divine
I used to use the original Venus razor when I first began shaving. The Venus Divine is a slight improvement on that original with intensive moisture strips. I think that these two razors are best suited to the no-fuss type girl who likes things plain and simple. They have 3 blades, and provide a clean and effective shave. I think they are perfect for girls who have just started shaving.

3 blades with shave gel bars – Proskin MoistureRich, Breeze and Spa Breeze
After trying each of these razors I have to say that I am not a fan of the shave gel bars. I find that I don’t know how to prime my legs for shaving. Do I use my typical conditioner which just made the surface of my skin slick and slippery with the added shave gel bars, or do I leave my skin wet but bare, and use the razors on their own? I found both undesirable because in the first scenario my skin would be too goopey to get an even and close shave, but relying on the built in shave gel bars alone wasn’t enough because I got razor burn and again didn’t get an exceptionally close shave. Also, I didn’t find the shave gel bars to last more than about 3 shaves which I was not impressed with. I loved the scent of the Spa Breeze razor but ultimately I need more in a razor than a yummy scent.

5 blades – Embrace, Venus & Olay, and Venus & Olay Sugarberry
In terms of getting a close and even shave I found the 5 blade Venus razors to be the most reliable. My favourite is the Venus & Olay original which smells amazing while also giving my legs some moisture, even if I choose not to moisturize after showering. I was extremely impressed with this! However, I found the width of the razor to be quite large and clunky, and like the shave gel bars, the moisture strips did not last more than about 3 shaves. I also had the same dilemma with deciding whether to prep my legs with conditioner or not; the moisture in the Olay razors got really goopey when I used conditioner. I did however find that the moisture strips were excellent for sensitive skin areas such as the bikini line and underarms and will definitely continue to use this razor in these areas.

Moisture strips vs. Shave gel bars – Moisture strips hands down. They were more reliable, provided the best results, and the least amount of fuss.

Interchangeable handles/razors – I love that you can change the handles and the razors. This really provides you with flexibility that other brands do not offer. My favourite combination is the Venus & Olay razor with the Spa Breeze handle.

Shower cartridge (suction cups) – I like that that Venus ProSkin, Breeze, Spa Breeze and Olay razors all had suction cups with little hooks to hold up the razors in your shower. I really like these better than my Schick Quatro holder because they are not as clunky, take up minimal space and hold your razor far enough away from the wall that it can dry properly. I loved the Venus Embrace pod because although it is large it is sturdy and holds extra cartridges. The original Venus and Venus Divine also hold extra cartridges but I found their suction cups to be a little bit weaker.

    Repurchase / recommend?
Overall I am unsure if I would repurchase these but I would certainly recommend them to a friend. I liked them but I feel like I enjoy how sturdy and reliable my Schick Quatro razor is – I like the sturdy handle and the extremely close shave. While I enjoyed many aspects of the Venus razors (particularly the scents, the flexibility of them being interchangeable, and the moisture they provide) ultimately I think many of the perks are just bells and whistles – fun and enjoyable, but also frivolous and unnecessary. In my opinion, the most important thing about a razor is that you get a close and long lasting shave, and for this alone I think my Schick Quatro does a superior job. I would still recommend these to a friend however because I acknowledge that they were easy to use and effective, but I just don’t want the fuss.

I received these razors (generously!) to try from ChickAdvisor and Gillette.

I tried these products free of charge courtesy of the Review Club.

I am already a regular user of the "embrace" so it was nice to get to try new scents and blades.

The main selling point for venus razors is how awesome it is to have interchangeable razor heads! We no longer have to worry about buying the same razors to use with our existing handles. When I took out all the packaging to compare the handles, there was no wow. The handles are pretty similar. It is only a matter of personal color preference.

The number of blades vary from 3-5. I definitely prefer the razors that had 5 blades as I am not as scared of getting cuts. The 3 blades are ok...pretty standard but I feel like it is a thing of the past! lol

I like the fact that cartridges are individually sealed.

The moisture bars are handy when you're in a rush and shower/shave because there isn't a need for a separate product. The scented bars were a nice touch. Definitely not used to scented razors!

For a starter kit, definitely get the one that comes with a shower pod that includes the suction cups! Super handy! Not only do you get a place to stash the replacement cartridges...you also won't have to leave your razor lying around everywhere.

    Favourites:
cartridge: olay featuring the sugarberry scent.
handle: "breeze" purely because its my favourite color
    shower pod: "embrace"

I received these products free as part of ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club. Thanks guys!

For years I used Venus razors but eventually switched to men's razors as I found they gave a closer shave.

I just recently switched back to Venus razors when I discovered their shave gel bar lines and was glad to get the chance to test out some of their other razors.

First off with the handles, personally I found them all pretty much the same. I couldn't tell the difference between them when I used them. I must say they do look great though, I love the colours, especially the green and blue Embrace.

I first started by testing the Venus Original and Divine. Neither of them really wowed me. They're both pretty standard, no frills. I found they didn't give me that close of a shave and I didn't notice the moisture strips on the Divine being anything to rave about. I probably wouldn't buy the refills for these two.

The next two I compared were the Embrace and Proskin. Again I like the colours of the Embrace, but that's about it. I found the razor head to be too big (which oddly enough I didn't feel that way about the other 5 blade razors) and a bit awkward to shave with. I am in love with the shave gel razors that Venus has come out with so the Proskin got top marks in my books! I just love how convenient these razors are, no shaving cream needed is a major plus. They're great for a quick shave in the morning and for traveling! I also found that despite only having 3 blades like the non-shave gel razors I felt like I got a closer shave.

The next two I compared were the Breeze and Venus & Olay Razor in Sugarberry. Seeing as they both have the shave gel bars I knew I would love that part of them. The razor I was using before getting this product review was the Venus Spa Breeze, as far as I could tell the Breeze was the same thing, just a different colour/scent. I really like the smell of the Spa Breeze bars, but found I wasn't a big fan of the scent of the Breeze, it was too flowery for me. I probably won't buy the Breeze refills because of the scent, but will continue to use the Spa Breeze.

I am completely in love with the Venus & Olay razors. My first experience with the shave gel bars was last year when I got the original Venus & Olay razor from a monthly beauty box. The 5 blades give a very close shave and this was the razor that brought me back to Venus razors after using men's for a long time. Since I've used the original one before I decided to test the Sugarberry version. I must say I am in love with the scent of this razor!

Out of all of the razors, the Venus & Olay are my favourite. Though I do find the Olay refills cost more than the others, and I did have an issue for a while when I first used them with finding them in stores (which is why I switched to the Spa Breeze).

That being said, I love that the razors are interchangeable, when I buy I like to see what's on sale/cheaper, but always just stick to whatever line I have a handle for. I am glad that they offer a variety of different razors with the moisture bars, I love them all so now I can change things up between them whenever I choose!

I got to try the lineup of Venus Razors for free from ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club

My overall experience with these razors was excellent. I've been known to use men's razors more often than women's ones, but I'm sold on these babies - no more manly razors for me!

I decided to try out the razors by mixing and matching cartridges to handles in random order.

I determined that my favorite handle was the Original Venus 3 Blade one. It had the least amount of non-slip surface on it and it felt the most comfortable in my hand. It didn't slip, was comfortable to work with. I found that the more non-slip material there was, the least convenient it was to handle.

It was tougher to determine a favorite cartridge - the choice between the ones with moisture strips and without was a difficult one. I declared the Venus and Olay original a winner thanks to it leaving my legs smooth and hydrated feeling all day long and the great scent.
A close second was the Venus Spa Breeze - amazing smell and moisture level.

A disappointing experience was the Venus Embrace cartridge - it left me with cuts and itchy legs for a few days.

I think the variety of products is great because there is something for every girl to like.

I've had these sitting on my shelves in the living room for a while, the packages became a conversation piece with everyone who came over, and of course everyone wanted to know which one is the best, I've been recommending these to my girlfriends and definitely would buy them myself, once all of these run out.

I'll definitely be sharing some of these with my friends!

    Thanks ChickAdvisor team!

For this review, I decided to start with the original Venus (3 blade), because I’ve used it so many times before but never really compared it to the newer Venus products that are now available. I love the handles of all the Venus razors – they’re always comfortable to hold, have good grip and come in cute colours. The handle of this one is blue, and it comes with a compact that you can keep the refills in, which also attaches to the wall of your shower. As for the actual razor, it did a really decent job as always! The 3 blades gave me a close shave, and my skin felt soft and smooth for days. Plus, the slightly smaller head of this razor is perfect for reaching every spot.
Next I tried the ProSkin MoistureRich, which has shave gel bars. When I opened this one up it had a soft scent like cocoa butter, which I love. I slightly moistened the razor before starting to shave, and it worked really well, lathering up just enough to have a perfect shave. It was so convenient to just grab my razor and start shaving, without having to lather up my skin beforehand or worry about it rinsing off before I’m finished! It helped to streamline my shower/shaving process even more, which is always a good thing. After I was done, I definitely noticed the difference that the MoistureRich gel bars made. The ProSkin Venus doesn’t come with the same refill compact as the regular Venus – this one is called a shower hook and it has a little suction cup to stick it onto the wall, but no space for refills. I think I prefer the shower hook on this one, although I like how the other ones (that come with the original) have space for cartridges.
The next one I went for was the Venus & Olay 5 Blades with Sugarberry scent, which is supposed to exfoliate and moisturize as you shave. When I opened this one up, the scent almost reminded me more of watermelon than berries, but it’s still a really cute, sweet scent! I found this one behaved just like the ProSkin, although I didn’t notice much of a difference between the 3 and 5-blades; they both just gave me a really smooth shave. The Venus & Olay Sugarberry made my skin feel great, maybe not quite as moisturized as the ProSkin, but that may be due to the exfoliating factor as well. Overall, I liked this one a lot, because of the different scent and the fact that it is supposed to help ‘renew’ the skin with exfoliation. However, I noticed that the Sugarberry scent had faded quite a bit by the second time I went to use this one, which was disappointing! But all in all, this one is definitely another awesome Venus razor.
I have tried the Venus Spa Breeze with White Tea scent in the past and it was great as well. I loved the scent, and the soft pink handle of this one is probably my favourite of them all.
Venus razors have definitely been my favourite since they first came out, and this review opportunity has just made me love them even more! I’ve always liked to try different brands all the time for beauty products, especially for shaving, and there are other good razors out there but they never give as close of a shave as Venus does.
It’s really hard to choose my favourite out of them all, when there are so many (not including the disposable ones as well!) and every single one of them works so well, but right now I definitely find myself leaning towards the ProSkin MoistureRich razor because it has the convenience of the shave gel bars and is very moisturizing. I really love every Venus razor, though, for different reasons. The ones like the original 3 blade, and the 5 blade Embrace all work perfectly, and I think I prefer using them in trickier areas (like under arms). But the others with the shave gel bars are really growing on me, because they are quick and easy to use, but they also have the extras like pretty scents and moisturizing or exfoliating shave gel bars.
I can’t say enough how appreciative I am for being chosen to take part in this review, it was so awesome and generous of ChickAdvisor and Gillette! I’m stocked up for a while now but of course will keep purchasing Venus razors in the future, and recommend them to everyone!

I had the opportunity to review Venus razors series with the Chick Advisor Product Review Club.

The Venus razor series were easy to use and each cartridge has lasted quite a number of uses. I find typically that any sort of disposable razor becomes dull way too fast. These razors do not have that problem.

The Venus and Olay blades both were really nice in the fact that you didn't have to use shaving cream. It made it much easier to use than most razors and had enough added moisturizer that my legs didn't dry out. The only problem I found was that the moisture bars fell off after only a couple of uses and I felt that I really didn't get the opportunity to use the razor enough for the moisture bard to be worth it. I really liked the plain scent, as opposed to the sugarberry as I felt the latter was really sweet. But both were nice if only they lasted longer.

The Embrace was a pretty good and reliable razor. They had a number of handle colours which made no difference to the way in which they worked, but the moisture ribbon around the outside of the cartridge was a nice addition. It was probably the smoothest razor out of all of them, and lasted the longest.

The Proskin was really nice too. Unfortunately, just like the Olay razor this dermatological bar fell off only after a couple of uses. Although it also didn't smell as nice as the Olay ones, it had a really fresh and light scent. It was the nicest shave as well as I was very smooth and my sensitive skin didn't have any any issues with it. It was a really nice razor if only it didn't fall apart so fast.

The Breeze was exactly the same as the Proskin and Olay razors and I had the same issue of the moisture bars falling apart after only a couple of uses. It is nice not to have use shaving cream though!

The Original and Divine were pretty nice razors, but I did prefer the Embrace for that extra added of moisturizer. It, like the Embrace, lasted quite a while, so it made it a very valuable razor to purchase.

It I were to choose, I would have the Embrace cartridge with a Venus Olay surgarberry handle as I think it's the prettiest colour! It would also be really nice to have the Olay moisture blades to be better secured on the razor so that they didn't fall off so easy.

I would definitely consider purchasing these products in the future and would certainly recommend them to my friends. They are quality products and I don't see why anyone wouldn't use Venus razors!

I received these products free to test for being a part of the ChickAdvisor Review Club. They gave me a ton of product to test and review, thank you!

I had been using disposable razors for quite some time, and it being the dead of winter here in Canada, my legs were definitely not getting the attention they needed! Receiving these razors has gotten me that much more excited for summer weather! I tried a few different razors and handles and have DEFINITELY found my new go-to.

It's awesome how all the razor heads and handles can be interchangeable. It's great to have so many options. I loved my whole experience testing these razors and I will be recommending venus to friends and family! Another feature I like with the razors is that they each come with a shower hook to hold them neat and tidy in my shower. (The disposable razors just end up all over my shower :S)

The first razor I tried was the New Venus & Olay (I just couldn't wait!) and I'm soo happy with it. The 5 blades is great and the moisture bars are amazing! The moisture bar is just what my skin needed after the harsh winter. I also like how the moisture bars DO NOT get all soggy and goopy right the first use. I had found this to be the case in the past with other razors and it had been one of my main reasons for not using razors with "moisture gel" right on them.

Next I tried the Venus SPA Breeze. The smell of these razors is soo nice! The white tea scent is definitely my favorite! The razor worked well, as promised, and has shave gel bars. Although the bars were nice I don't think I liked them as much as the Venus & Olay ones.

Lastly, I decided to try the plain-Jane Venus Original 3-Blade Razor. Firstly let me say that the razor holder with all the extra cartridge holders is a great feature. The other two razors I tried didn't have this feature, but the razor itself just can't measure up after having used the Venus & Olay and Spa Breeze. Don't get me wrong the razor works well, but the convenience of having the razor and moisture bar is just too great.

And FINALLY I will tell you my perfect match. The winner is the Venus & Olay razor head paired with the Venus Spa Breeze handle!! Its the perfect combination of girly scent and moisture. It's like treating your legs to a whole new world! I will definitely be buying Venus razors from here on out and throwing my disposables in the trash, where they belong!!
