I received the Dream Velvet Soft Matte Foundation through the Chick Advisor Product review club. I typically only use a BB Cream and sometimes a powder rather than foundation as I've found matching my skin tone to be somewhat problematic. I did like the tone that the Porcelain Ivory shade provided for my skin, but I found the foundation itself to be somewhat lacking. It almost immediately started flaking off around my chin which wasn't what I was expecting based on how smoothly it went on. I did use the companion product: Dream Blender which came with the review product, so perhaps that contributed to the flaking? I will probably keep trying this product because I did enjoy the coverage it provided and it did leave my skin feeling very soft.

I am really on the fence with this foundation. I love the mousse-like texture and I like that it is in a tube. The coverage is a little on the light side but it is buildable. I used a beauty sponge (not the one that Maybelline makes), a brush, and fingers, but I find the application patchy with any method. It can cling to dry spots and it just doesn't last very long at all, even with powder. I have combination skin so it clings to the dry places and melts away in the oily places.

I received this product to review through Chick Advisor. I have been using as my only foundation for this past week. I have to say I am not impressed at all with this foundation. I was really looking forward to trying it out, as I have seen positive reviews both on this site, and as well as youtube. It just wasn't for me. It settled into my lines, and was really hard to blend out on my skin. I would not recommend this foundation to someone with drier skin, which I don't consider myself to have. I am more on the oilier side, but this foundation made my skin patchy looking and flakey.

In short, I think if you have VERY oily skin, this foundation might work for you, but honestly I would more likely recommend the Fit Me matte and poreless foundation range from Maybelline instead.

I received this product for free by ChickAdvisor. I really wanted to love this foundation because it seemed to be so different and I liked that they made a blender to go with it. I have to be honest, i'm disappointed. i have a light skin shade and I received the shade 20 ivory. Usually ''ivory'' is a pale yellowish shade. Most of my foundations are called this way and the color suits me perfectly. But the dream velvet ivory is red-ish!!!! It doesn't match at all I couldn't even apply it on my entire face to test it for the day. Also, the mousse texture is not for me cause it doesn't blend evenly. I'm sure it is a long lasting one... it's just too bad for the shade :(

I received this to test from chick advisor and I really wanted to love it. I got it yesterday morning and used it right away. The first thing I noticed was the colour was too dark and orangey for me (I got the lightest shade) I thought this would be okay and it could work for me still if I blended it more. I applied it with the sponge (which I loved) evenly across my moisterized face. My skin is combination but I dont usually have any problems of dryness in the winter since I started using a face cream. I got halfway through the day yesterday and it looked awful on my skin. It was flaked up with a cakey uneveness on certain patches on my face (maybe its because the mousse texture it doesnt go well with my skin) whatever the reason I was very disappointed by this and decided to try it again today. I am about 4 hours into my day and it is already at that same cakey/flakey stage. Maybe it would not have been as noticeable if they had a lighter shade option, but it is just too dark and looks awful on my skin. Sorry but I will not be purchasing this in the future, I was so excited to try it out but this ones a dud for me.
