Drugstores have been stepping it up lately in the foundation department! I received the Dream Velvet Foundation in shade 05 Warm Ivory, which is a bit too yellow/dark for my skintone, but I like everything else about it. It has a thicker, whipped consistency, and a little goes a long way. While it doesn't entirely cover my pores, it does blur them. The result is a soft and natural matte finish. I consider it medium coverage, but you will definitely need a separate concealer for dark circles.

I really love the results I get from this foundation! It feels almost high-end. While I can make it work, I only wish the lightest shade wasn't so yellow and was even lighter. Hey, Maybelline -- please consider making a lighter shade with less yellow undertones! ;) If you can find a shade that works for you, I definitely recommend trying the Dream Velvet foundation!

I've been using the Maybelline Fit Me! for years, and switched to the Matte + Poreless version about a year ago, so I was extremely excited when I was chosen for this campaign. I was a little wary when I received my foundation, mostly because the packaging is exactly what you would expect for a nice thick hand cream. The consistency was also unexpected, closer to a thick BB cream than a foundation. I applied it with the included sponge and was completely blown away by how much I liked it! It applies smoothly, is surprisingly full coverage, and doesn't feel like heavy foundation. It blends like a dream, and sets really quickly without any powder. Matte without looking flat, it stayed for hours and didn't darken or cake. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this and am considering switching from the Fit Me once I run out!

I received the Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation for free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review club, and I am so glad that I was selected! It truly does as it says, providing great matte coverage, is ultra hydrating and soft on the skin. As can be seen in my before an after photo, it reduced redness and shine, and really minimized skin imperfections. This is a product that can stand alone when in a rush! No powder or finishing top needed for your skin to look and feel great. I will 100% be buying this foundation again and recommending to all my friends!

Got it free from product review club. I really like pretty much everything about this foundation! the colour (05) is a perfect match for me, it blends in so well. The foundation itself is not cakey at all, the face looks very natural and flawless. I usually try to use BB creams to achieve a natural look and feel, but in this case my face looks fresh and natural. I was afraid it might be too "powedery" as it is a matte foundation, but I dont have that problem at all. I used it over just moisturized and over the sun screen, and it stays on well pretty much all day. If using it with sunscreen i get a bit of oily shine after ~ 5-6 hours, but nothing really major, so I'm very impressed by the quality. It also doesn't seem to settle much into my pores/wrinkles, so I'm very happy with my face when i use it! The coverage itself is probably on the light/medium side, so if your skin is without major flaws it's good to use. It covers my redness well, and hides some pores and imperfections, though if there's a pimple or some scarring it might not cover it very well. I tried using it with both my fingers and a soft sponge (both maybelline blender and beauty blender) and i think both ways give equally good result. The price (~18 CAN) seems a bit high for a "store" brand, but im really impressed with the quality and performance, and would recommend it!

Très bon fond de teint. J'ai adoré la texture et le fait qu'elle hydrate la peau en même temps. Je me suis sentie à l'aise et bien dans ma peau toute la journée avec ce produit. Ne tâche pas. Ne fais pas de marque si on touche son visage. Je le recommande à plusieurs. L'applicateur est formidable et agréable à utiliser pour étaler le fond de teint. C'est un produit que je vais me procurer plus souvent.

I really enjoyed this product! It went on smoothly and wasn't cakey; a perfect light coverage. I like that it is widely available and at a very reasonable price point.

I was one of the lucky ones to receive a sample from Chickadvisor and I am so glad I did! This is my new go-to foundation. It is not too heavy but definitely provides coverage and make my skin look fabulous.
It blends extremely well and a little goes a long way. It blended seamlessly with my skintone and had a very nice, smooth texture once applied. It gave my fair skin excellent coverage and really evened out my skintone, hiding redness. AND it lasted really well! I did use the e.l.f makeup setting spray with it and it lasted the entire workday, so I am really pleased with it.
I would definitely recommend this foundation!

I was happy to test out the new Maybelline New York Dream Velvet Foundation free from chickadvisor and Maybelline. I like that the foundation is nice and light and blends fairly well. I did find you need to be careful not to over do it because it can cause a cakey look. The foundation covers well and leaves you face mate. Overall it is a nice non irritating light foundation that will work for nearly all skin colors and types.

I have tried many different brands of foundation over the years and did not like the way it felt on my skin or that I would have to reapply it after several hours but with the Maybelline foundation I only need apply it once and it is good for the day or evening without any touch-ups and it has such a light feeling I hardly know I am wearing it, thanks
