I have always used a manual brush, tried a few battery ones in the past and didn't find they really did anything more for my teeth so went back to the manual as it was cheaper! I was lucky enough to be selected to try the new Oral-B Pulsonic and was sceptical of course as in the past battery ones seemed to be nothing better.

When it arrived I loved the fact it was lightweight and slim very easy to hold. Also loved the fact of the internal timer and notifier to let you know when you were done that "section" of brushing! The two speeds are perfect for getting the teeth clean then lessening the speed for more sensitive areas like the tongue and gums.

I have been using it religiously since getting it and have to say as a smoker who had stains on my teeth and even worse stains behind my bottom teeth within a week the stains have lessened by at least 75%. I can see them getting less and less each day and it is making me more confident and happy that a battery brush actually is doing what it says it will do.

I suggest anyone and everyone to have this brush it is by far an amazing tool for oral heath and I actually cant wait to go to my dentist to see the surprise on his face when he sees how white my teeth are :) He might just think I quit smoking!

I LOVE my Oral-B Pulsonic Toothbrush! I had been looking at purchasing an electric toothbrush for the past couple of months and jumped at the chance to review it for ChickAdvisor.

My favourite feature is the Timer, which gives a short stuttering sound you can hear and feel at 30 second intervals. I found it much easier then counting in my head to the recommended 2 minute brushing time. Using the Oral-B Pulsonic is easier for me then a regular toothbrush and my teeth and gums feel extra clean each time I brush them. The Pulsonic brush head was my favourite one to use although the Precision brush was good to get in between teeth and hard to reach places.

I am a huge fan of this product and recommend it highly to anyone looking for a great electric toothbrush. The replacement heads cost about $20 and I am going to continue to use this as my daily toothbrush.

Thanks to Product Review for the toothbrush opp. Like some of the earliest reviews here, I was excited to try it out right away! But after doing so, I thought I better try it a bit longer to see if my first impression was correct. It has gotten better after 1.5 weeks of using, but I still don't like it. While Oral-B is a great brand, and it has some redeeming features, overall I have to say really not sure about a purchase of this product, and wouldn't particularly recommend it. Especially with the heads being so expensive to replace, and finding already some of the bristles fraying off. And I really don't feel 'dentist clean' all fresh as I was expecting to; about the same as a regular brush really - though easily less work!

The shaking from the vibrations echo in your head such that your brain shakes and your ears ring - OK slight exaggeration, but it's *really* annoying. Sort of like the sound of a plane landing when you are sitting right over the wings. At least it (seems to be) just in your head, as I was worried in the beginning that I'd wake up everyone in the house. And while the Sensitive setting option is good for sore gums days, it doesn't have the same sense of clean; however, really can't stand the noise of the main setting. Am getting used to it, but not sure I want to. And beware knocking the head against your other teeth... open wide... Further, not sure I'll ever use that little brush addition as I like floss for that in-between bit.

There is a lot of over-foaming such that there is toothpaste dripping - every time. Had to wash a few shirts just for brushing my teeth! Now I have to just lean waaay over the sink to avoid this. We all spit after brushing, but this is a little much - and gross. OHYA, and the timer: really not enjoying the alert every 30 seconds; who brushes in 'quadrants' anyhow? At least once your 'allotted' 2 minutes is up, you can still brush should you not be done. Maybe I want to go longer as I'm waiting for this 'stain removal and whitening' bit to happen?

There is this giant box, and the charger comes tightly wrapped in plastic, with the plug also wrapped securely, yet the part with the bristles that go in my mouth weren't covered at all. Seemed unsanitary somehow; but as the box was sealed, went ahead anyhow. Would make more sense to have the bristles, head, and brush wrapped and not the plug. ALSO, there is no cover or case for the brush, so travelling with it requires then the usual ziploc baggie.

BEST feature? You can use it for (looks like at least) 2 weeks and not even need to recharge it! Pretty amazing that actually. Especially since I don't want it sitting on the counter. Which then makes it great for travelling short journeys; but again, no case or cover. Used to use (way back) one of those battery powered ones, and remember it at least came with a snap-on lid for the brush head.

I really enjoyed this product. This product was MUCH better than my manual toothbrush that I was using before. I love the small size of the product and the charger. Easy to store on or under a counter without it being too bulky.
I would high recommend this to family and friends.

I've been using the Oral-B Pulsonic power toothbrush for 8 days now and I am loving it!! My teeth have never felt so smooth and clean!

    Initial impression
When I first opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised by just how slim and sleek this toothbrush is.
I was able to mount the holder on the wall in my bathroom, which I like because it keeps my toothbrush off the counter so I'm not always knocking it over.

    Operation
The controls are simple - press once for regular mode, twice for sensitive teeth, and again to turn it off - which is good and adds to the aesthetic appeal. The brush heads vibrate like crazy and I can really feel it getting to the hard-to-reach areas like behind my molars, where it is difficult to use that brushing motion that a manual toothbrush requires.
I wanted to fully charged the handle so I could report how long it could go on a single charge... but... all I can say at this point is that it has lasted longer than 5 days haha. I will try to update this later if I remember!

    Effectiveness
For me, it's hard to get used to the fact that it produces such little foam. I tend to think it's not working as hard as I do with my manual brush when bubbles are erupting from my mouth haha... but the noticeable clean feeling proves otherwise.
The Pulsonic also comes with a Precision brushing head - a head with a small round patch of bristles about 4 mm wide. Honestly, I thought this was useless at first. But let me tell you, it came in handy on Friday night after I when to a movie! I flossed to get the inevitable residual popcorn hulls out of my gums, and then decided to try the precision head to get that gritty feeling out from my gums and between my teeth. Worked like a charm! A worthy investment for any movie buffs :)
I received it just over a week ago, so I haven't yet seen the if it will whiten my teeth in two weeks, as the brochure claims. But, even if it doesn't brighten my smile in just 14 days, I am confident that my oral health will improve with consistent use of the Pulsonic.

    Recommendations
I would recommend this slick little unit to anyone that can afford it. I realize it's not the most expensive power toothbrush out there, but well.ca sells it for about $100 and that is beyond many people's toothbrush budget. But, like I said, it's worth the splurge.
Also, I have a friend that's a dental hygenist and when I showed her the Pulsonic, she said she would consider recommending it to her patients. That's a thumbs-up in my books!

Lastly, thanks to the Product Review Club to this product and the chance to review it :)

I have never used a power toothbrush before so I was really happy that Chick Advisor gave me the opportunity to try the Oral B Pulsonic Power Toothbrush.

It was very easy to assemble and doesn't take up much space. I also really like that it is not bulky unlike other power toothbrushes I have seen. It is lightweight and easy to grasp and hold. It has 2 brushing modes: clean and sensitive. The "clean" mode takes a little to get used to being that I am a first time power toothbrush user. So I used the toothbrush on the "sensitive" mode a lot of the time. This power toothbrush is gentle so the first time I used it, I was skeptical about how effective it would be and how clean my teeth would feel afterwards. I was pleasantly surprised that my teeth felt cleaner than they ever have with my regular manual toothbrush (even using the "sensitive" mode). I have fairly white teeth but i noticed my teeth were much whiter and polished after two weeks of using the Oral B Pulsonic. The brush was also very gentle on my teeth and gums.

Another advantage of this toothbrush is that it buzzes every 30 seconds and helps me keep track of how long I have been brushing. I brush longer than I previously did which is great. Now I brush for at least 2 minutes.

One concern is the price, I have only used it for 2 weeks so I don't know if it is long lasting and how often it would need to be replaced.
The other con is that it doesn't come with a travel case which makes it difficult to travel with.

This was my first experience with a power toothbrush and It was a great first experience. I am not going back to a regular manual brush. The difference is very clear and I am grateful I had the chance to try the Oral B Pulsonic.

This toothbrush is outstanding, I was completely blown away. I have used electric toothbrushes in the past but the kind that have small round heads. I was not a fan of this type of tiny head so I ended up switching back to my regular brush. I am incredibly pleased with this toothbrush and would recommend it to everyone.

When I first took it out of the box I feared that the head was too small and I would not feel that my teeth would feel clean. After having used it I feel that the head is a great size because it helps to reach every corner of your mouth. The toothbrush itself is actually surprisingly tiny compared to others I have tried, and it is very light. My only complaint about this is that I feel the handle is a bit slippery and could use some grips. It's difficult to keep a good grip on it during use.

The first time I used the brush I actually felt like I had just come from a cleaning at the dentist. I don't feel like that each and every time but I'm sure this is because the first time I could tell the difference between the clean this toothbrush was achieving versus my old manual one. (I hope my dentist is impressed the next time I go in!)

I enjoy that the toothbrush pretty much forces you to brush your teeth for two minutes. In all honesty I sometimes feel like brushing my teeth is tedious using this brush because it makes me brush for what feels like such a long time. But to put this into perspective the box and manual state in numerous places that it is the DENTIST RECOMMENDED two minutes. It also clicks subtly to indicate the 30 second intervals in which you should brush each quadrant of your mouth. With this in mind I happily brush my teeth each morning and night knowing that my toothbrush is ensuring I brush my teeth for the recommended amount of time without my even having to think about it consciously.

I love using both heads, the regular brush and the precision head that gets between teeth. I feel that this really assists with areas that you normally floss. Another brilliant feature is the two modes, regular speed and slow speed for sensitive teeth and areas. Great idea, and very handy!

I checked out the price in store and the brush itself is 70 bucks, and the replacement heads are 2 heads and a precision tip in a package for 30 bucks. I think this is a reasonable price considering how thoroughly the brush cleans your mouth. I have to admit that before actually using the brush I would not have considered spending so much on a toothbrush but after having used it I can honestly say that I would seriously consider spending that amount on such an effective product. I am not sure how often you would have to replace the head because I have only been using it for two weeks now but I am sure it is a comparable amount of time to a regular toothbrush's life.

Lastly I would like to mention the whitening aspect. Oral B does state that the brush will help to remove up to 94% of surface stains in two weeks. I use Crest 3D White toothpaste regularly (which is another incredibly effective product that I would highly recommend) and I truly think that when used in conjunction with this toothbrush my teeth are a more brilliant white than when just using the toothpaste alone. I am quite happy with these results!

Some final minor details to consider: the charging stand takes up very little room on my bathroom counter which pleases me, and the brush needs no conventional batteries, it has a rechargeable battery, which I think is fantastic!

In summary I think this toothbrush is incredibly intuitive. Oral-B seems to have thought of everything that one would need in a toothbrush and it really is effective at everything they have promised. Highly recommend!

This power toothbrush is quite different than the other power toothbrushes on the market. As you might suspect based on the name, the effectiveness of this toothbrush comes from its pulsating action as opposed to from a rotating head. Therefore, you use it with the same motions as you would your manual toothbrush. However, after brushing with the Oral-B Pulsonice power toothbrush, I found that my teeth felt smooth and clean for several hours after brushing. Furthermore, this toothbrush has two different heads, including a small head designed for cleaning between teeth, or would probably be great for cleaning around partials, crowns, etc. I found that this power toothbrush was much gentler on my gums, due to the absence of the rotating heads which I have found to be quite hard on my gums. This toothbrush is highly recommended!

The toothbrush is easy to assemble, charges quickly and stays charged for a decent amount of time. The positioning of the on/off switch is extremely awkward--there is no way to turn it on or off while it is in your mouth. This can make for a big mess if you don't brush your teeth with the toothbrush turned off for a couple seconds to distribute the toothpaste in your mouth.

Overall, it is better than some electric toothbrushes I have tried. I like the feature that has it pulsing after 30 seconds and again after 2 minutes so you can time how long you spend brushing your teeth.

I do find it difficult to brush close to the gumline with the toothbrush, and I also find the tops of my teeth don't feel clean with this toothbrush. The backs and sides of my teeth feel cleaner than when brushed with a manual toothbrush. 30 seconds often doesn't feel like long enough to clean a section of my mouth. When I want to brush longer, the pulsing feature is annoying, but at least the toothbrush continues to work past 2 minutes.

I will recommend the toothbrush to others, provided you can find it on sale. I'm looking for a deal on extra attachments so my husband can use this as well.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to test this product as it's very pricey if you're not sure how much you're going to like it.

I always wondered what the electric toothbrushes were like compared to a regular one. I was excited to be chosen to try one. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity. The power toothbrush is so amazing that I felt like I had been to the dentist for a cleaning. My mouth feels clean and fresh after every use. The toothbrush is extremely easy to use and very effective. I regret not having one earlier. I would recommend this item to everyone because my opinion is that the Oral-B Pulsonic Power Toothbrush 100% better than a regular toothbrush.
