I had the chance to try this palette, which is billed as a "party essential". It definitely lives up to that name, as the colours are very shimmery - perfect for a holiday party look.

I think the value is great - four shadow in very pretty packaging for $20. Plus a lovely mirror, which is extremely handy! My only issue was that the pigment/colour payoff of these shadows is just OK. The shadows really need to be built up in order to see the colour. Some people like this amount of control, but my preference is richly pigmented shadows.

The brown matte shade was my favourite of the four, and I was able to blend it out for a very simple smokey eye look.
