I really really love the fresh scent of this lotion, I actually tried some out in the store and afterwards I had to buy it because I fell in love! I am so happy that I bought it, it picks me up on a day when I am feeling a bit down and makes me happy.

I have been a loyal Body Shop customer for many years now so was very excited when a neighbor gave me a bottle of the Sweet Lemon Body Lotion. I knew I was in for a treat.

~ Product Description

The Body Shop says: “Moisturize and hydrate your skin with a light and fluffy whipped cream lotion that will leave skin supple, soft, smooth and scented with an uplifting and fresh lemon fragrance.”

This lotion is suggested as best for normal to dry skin

The key ingredient in this product is lemon seed oil. The Body Shop claims that “lemon seed oil is high in anti-oxidants and Vitamin C and helps moisturize and soften the skin.”

This body lotion comes in a 250 ml (8.4 US FL OZ) bottle with a pump top, and it sells for approximately $12.00.

~ My Experience

I have dry skin that nearly always requires a lotion or moisturizer, especially after a bath or shower.

The Sweet Lemon Whip Body Lotion has a light consistency and is a cheerful yellow color. The fragrance is lovely. Uplifting and invigorating and just perks me up in the morning after my shower. It reminds me of a spring day. It smoothes on nicely, and absorbs fairly quickly into the skin and does not leave a sticky or greasy residue. A little bit goes a long way. It leaves my skin softened and lightly moisturized. The product is not heavy and the scent is not overpowering. In fact, the scent does not last very long at all. After just a few minutes, it starts to fade. Although, one could layer this product with The Body Shop’s other Sweet Lemon products so as to maximize on the refreshing lemon scent as well as the hydrating effects.

Although the lotion comes with the benefit of a pump, I find that a small amount of product gets left behind in the pump, causing it to dry up so that every time you re-use the lotion, the dried up lotion comes out first, followed by the lotion itself. You then have to pick out the dried up bit and throw it away, resulting in wastage of product.

~ Final Thoughts

The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Whip Body Lotion is a nice, lightweight lotion with a light texture. It leaves the skin smooth and soft, and lightly moisturized. It is suitable for normal to dry skin and is a perfect summer hand and body lotion.

I received this as a Christmas gift and I liked it. The texture was great, very creamy, not greasy. It absorbed well, and my skin felt soft and moisturized all day. The scent also lasted well. I couldn't tell if I smelled like a Lemon Meringue Pie or furniture polish, but either way I liked it! I only received a little trial size bottle, so it ran out quickly, but I will definitely be buying more.
