Friendly service!

I was surprised when I was picked to take part of this campaign from ChickAdvisor and Voila! By Sobeys. So to start off, I do have to disclose that I was given a coupon code discount in exchange for my honest review.

It couldn't be easier to order groceries online, especially right now during the pandemic. Going into stores can be a little scary and overwhelming, and shopping online eliminates that. The Voila by Sobeys website is very easy to use, and I was able to schedule my delivery for the same week as I was ordering.

You can choose your groceries based on categories or you can use the search engine. What's nice about the Sobeys site is that you can also shop from other stores in your area, so for myself I could pick groceries also from Farm Boy, and Chalo FreshCo. And, there are sale prices. Which is awesome because some of the competitors only charge regular price.

I will say the day I placed my order, some of the items I wanted to order, said they were out of stock, so I was a little disappointed in that, however when I got my order confirmation, I was given a few days to modify my order. So the day before my order was delivered, I was able to log in and those items were then able to be added.

The day of my delivery, I received an email to say my order was processed and it would be delivered in the time frame I picked. The driver (Emilio) called me about 15 minutes before my delivery and said he would be at my house then.

Once he arrived he unloaded my groceries out of the refrigerated truck, rang my door bell, and stepped away giving some distance.. since we have the pandemic. When I stepped out to collect my groceries he explained how the truck is kept at a certain temperature, the bags with green handles are for cold items and bags with brown handles are for everything else that doesn't spoil. The bags are also collected by them to be recycled, but unfortunately the program is on hold right now because of the virus.

Overall, my experience was positive. I was happy with how quickly I was able to schedule my delivery, and how friendly the driver was. My only disappointment was that although I could shop from a few stores, the selection was limited and I had to go back in and edit my order to add those items that I originally would have added the first time. I would use the service again, especially if they offered more promotions.

In the past few weeks I have tried a few online grocery shopping retailers. I realized very quickly that my expectations were possibly a little high, or maybe I was too picky. I found that prices were high(no sale items) shipping costs seemed high and delivery windows seemed to be weeks out and very limited.
When I received the voucher to give Voilia a try, I was interested to see what Sobeys offered.
I will say that that my excitement grew at each step! Signup was easy, and choosing items was a breeze. Choosing delivery was also very easy! I placed my order Friday afternoon and there was availability Saturday!! Lots of delivery times were available, a HUGE PLUS!! I was also pleasantly surprised to see that there were sale items! Sobeys offers its online shoppers the same sale items that offered in store!! Such a plus!! (I didn’t feel that I was over paying!! Another PLUS!) check out was also a breeze, once I confirmed my order I noticed that Voilia offers you the opportunity (time limited 3.5hrs?) to come back and add to your order (.. who doesn’t forget something or wish they could add another item??!? Another PLUS!)
On delivery day, I received a call from the driver informing me that he was 15mins away, he explained that once he arrived at my place he would then confirm my order and confirm the temperature of my frozen items (amazing!! Another PLUS!)
When my items arrived, they were delivered in a true temperature controlled truck, (not a regular vehicle!) the driver was pleasant and friendly! He placed my items on the porch, frozen items were separated from the regular groceries (another PLUS!) and he explained that he confirmed the temperature of my frozen items, which were also in bags that were a little different (green handles) so I can quickly identify and handle my frozen items (a PLUS!)
My items were awesome! My bread arrived fresh and not squished, my produce was all fresh and great quality! I had a great experience!!! Sobeys, you really stepped up and met all my expectations of what online grocery shopping and delivery should be.
I will re-order, and I would recommend to my besties, family and neighbours Forsure!!

Good option for grocery delivery - with lower delivery fee!

Thanks to the terrific ChickAdvisor Product Review Club I received a discount code to try out a new grocery delivery service: Voila by Sobeys!

This couldn't have come at a better time, and I'm happy to see Sobeys get into the grocery delivery game. It's super easy to register, browse a large selection of products on the website and add them to your cart. You get to take advantage of regular food prices comparable to what you would see in store, including sales.

The driver was in my neighbourhood a couple of hours earlier than my scheduled delivery time and asked if he could possibly deliver my groceries earlier. It worked out great, and he was very courteous. The cold and frozen products were as if they had just come out of the freezer.

Aspects that I think give this service an edge: the produce is really nice quality and has kept beautifully so far, the delivery fee is only $7.99 (vs $10+ or paying a surcharge on every item), and they tell you which items are out of stock at checkout so you can pick alternatives and don't end up with substitutions you don't want. My only disappointment was that I ended up with 4 x 2L of milk that all expire within the next 10 days, luck of the draw I guess.

Thanks to @ChickAdvisor and to VOILÀ BY SOBEYS I was able to try out Voilà by Sobeys; they're an online grocery delivery service that offers thousands of groceries and everyday essentials at affordable prices.

Placing my online order was so simple. You start off by registering and then just start by reviewing their products. You simply click on the desired product and place the quantity you'd like to receive. If you have any
problems you simply contact them for assistance. I actually ran into a hiccup so I tried calling in and, to my surprise, learned that I didn't have to wait long for assistance. In a few seconds my issue was resolved and I was ready to return to complete my order. Once my order was placed I just had to pick my 1-hour delivery window and wait for my order to arrive. My driver Ian arrived promptly on time and was super polite. He brought my order right to my door and explained that my frozen order was at -17 degrees Celsius! In fact, if my order wasn't at a safe temperature he wouldn't have handed it to me. That's what you call safety! Everything is sourced from their new customer fulfilment centre and packed by robots to ensure that the order is packed safely and accurately, and with less handling. Wonderful to note: their produce comes with a 'it's fresh or it's free" guarantee! Personally, I didn't have to worry about it because my order was perfect ... quality product delivered on time and with a smile? THAT'S why they named their company "Voilà"! It's because "Voilà, here's your order!! LOL
What a much needed service! Not only because of the restrictions due to COVID19, but also for lessening the burdens in our lives, getting groceries delivered to my home means that I now get freed up time to do other things!

Convenient Grocery Delivery

It was exciting to learn that Sobey's has launched a new grocery delivery service and even more exciting to receive a small gift card to try it out. The website is very easy to use, prices seem reasonable and products from Farm Boy are also available. One hour delivery time slots make the service super convenient. The only issue I experienced was with attempting to edit my order. The service allows you to edit up till the day before delivery, but there are several steps involved and I wasn't successful. Customer service was helpful in explaining what I had done wrong, so next time I'll know!
My groceries arrived exactly within the time slot booked, and were carefully packed. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience and found it well worth the $8 service charge.

Expensive but super fast service.

Easy to set up a profile. Most things were available on the website. Categories were neatly organized so it was easy to get to the type of product that you were looking for. There was a good variety in each category of products. I like that I was able to try some Farm boy, complements or fresh Co. products as well.

After placing your order there’s an opportunity to change your order up until it deadline. I received emails confirming my order. In the delivery instructions I asked for a phone call prior to the delivery, having kids I found this really important as I could get them settled and be free to take in my groceries when the time came. The phone call came as asked, the delivery person was very courteous and professional.

The groceries arrived with everything being very organized , The freezer fridge and pantry items were all separated into different bags. Nothing was squished as I’ve experienced before with other delivery services. The groceries are left on your porch or dropped into your front door if you prefer without any contact with the delivery person. I did see that the delivery person was wearing a mask as they dropped off the order.

My only criticism is that I find the price of items is very high compared to my usual grocery store of choice, which although it has no frills, is much cheaper in price. However I know people that use instant shopping services pay a large surcharge for that service. I feel Voila by Sobeys would be much better as grocery delivery slots are really available. I changed my mind a few times and was able to actually get a delivery the morning after I ordered. Delivery charge is cheaper than other grocery store.

Thank you #chickadvisor for the discount coupon to try #voila by Sobeys. It was easy to order with fast delivery and a friendly driver, Jason. The food was fresh and came at the proper temperature. Delivery is only $7.99 which is less than than some and no tipping! I will be ordering again.

Good effort for Sobeys grocery delivery

A good option for home grocery delivery. Delivery fee is reasonable and offers a variety of spots, much earlier than competitions and smaller windows of delivery (1 hour window compared to 2 hours or more).
Decent selection of items available, but seems offers less than what you would find in store and I would expect more variety since it is coming from a grocery warehouse than store.
Would like to be able to sort and narrow down search results further. I would also like to have an option for them to substitute products if the items selected turn out later to be out-of-stock come delivery day.
Good entry into the grocery delivery market, but needs improvement.

What an awesome experience! I was lucky to get a voucher from Chick Advisor to put towards my first order from Voila at Sobeys! As someone who has been primarily ordering grocery delivery during the pandemic, I was super excited to try something brand new and it is easy to spend $100 on groceries these days.

I really liked the ordering experience and the fact that not only do they have Sobeys products on the site, but they also have Farmboy and some Well.ca products. I love that they show the items that are on sale for the week as most of the other delivery companies do not do that as they are third party.

It was an easy checkout and there were plenty of time slots to choose from. I LOVE that they deliver as early as 6 to 7 am. That is fantastic and a game changer for me.

Delivery was super smooth and the person delivering the groceries was super sweet. He called me about half an hour before delivery, and as we live in a condo, I sent my husband down to grab the bags from him.

Side note, I love the colours they chose for their logo and colour scheme. The delivery truck is super cute too!

There is a $7.99 delivery fee but I found that to be completely reasonable as there are no other handling charges or fees and it's less than the $9.99 that the other big store players charge.

Overall, it was really a fantastic experience and I look forward to ordering again soon!

Great service

First I want to say that I received a discount in order to review this service.

There was so much about this service that I loved. First of all, there were a ton of items on sale - I liked seeing how much I saved on my order (even before the discount). Also knowing that the order was picked by robots and that the order is packed at the warehouse instead of at a store was a huge selling point for me - less hands touching the order, products aren't damaged or bruised from customers handling them, and the produce was crisp and very fresh. And the recyclable plastic bags was another bonus.

As much as I'm not a fan of shipping or delivery fees I actually found the $7.99 delivery fee very reasonable for the amount of value you get in the service: a call 15 minutes before the order arrives, a professional and friendly driver that explains your order to you, only having to give a day's notice for orders, organizing the order with colour-coded bags to know which products need to go into the fridge, order coming in a temperature controlled truck... just to name a few.

I would definitely use this service again when I have large grocery runs to do - the runs where it's difficult for me to bring my kids along for. The small delivery fee is definitely worth the hassle I will save.
