Fast and efficient service!

First time utilizing a grocery delivery service and with the help of a promo discount offered through the Product Review Club I decided to try it out. Viola by Sobeys was easy to use and received my groceries accurately and at the time they said they would deliver straight to my door! Prices were are a little more for some of the products I usually purchase but I did purchase many sale items so that helped wit the overall cost. Also the refrigerated groceries were easy to identify as they were placed in a different grocery bag for easy identification.

My grocery delivery experience with Sobeys

($50 minimum order + $7.99 delivery fee)
It would be convenient if you don't have reliable transportation to the grocery store, have an injured body part, or want to save time. The customer service was great! Called me before and when arriving. Provided bags and Tom went beyond when it came to describing the service. Wonderful experience.

A caveat would be not getting to pick your own fresh produce (fruits, vegetables, meat).

Voila is a great time saver!

I really found this website easy to navigate. The calendar had many delivery option times and my delivery person showed up even a tad early which was great! I like that things don’t come in boxes which I just have to recycle anyway. The produce was fresh and unblemished, and the dairy items arrived nice and cold. The only down side is that I didn’t find all their prices to be as competitive as in stores and the selection wasn’t as extensive as I would have preferred.

Some cons, but overall a good experience

I received a discount as part of a Product Review Club offer and made a purchase on Voila, Sobey's food delivery service.

There were many delivery options for any day of the week both during the day, all the way until late in the evening. Each delivery cost $7.99, no matter what day or time. I've used some other delivery services, and their fees are lower, and vary depending on the day and/or time of your delivery.

It was fairly easy to place the order, and browse the sections. One of the confusing things, however, was that I place my order on Wednesday, choose my delivery time for Sunday, and it said that I had to finish my order by Wednesday at 4:30pm. I looked at the flyer specials, but they were all going to change on Thursday so I didn't think I'd be able to get any of the sale prices since I had to place my order by Wednesday. But then later, after I placed the order it said that I could make changes until Saturday. So that was a bit confusing.

We were able to find the things we wanted. This trip we were mainly stocking up on meat and fish. There were very few options from the fresh butcher. I'm not sure if that's all of the time, but there was no chicken available. Fortunately, we were able to find what we wanted, however. Sobey's is a bit on the pricier side, but I do find their meats to be quality.

The checkout was simple other then the fact that there was no place to put our Air Miles card information in.

Our delivery man, Emilio was wonderful. He gave me a call to say he'd arrive in 10 minutes. When he arrived, he asked us about our experience, if it was our first time and assured us that he had checked the temperature of the meats that we had ordered.

It's so easy and convenient

I was given a $25 credit thru ChickAdvisor to give the new Voila By Sobeys online shopping/delivery service a try. To be honest I thought it would be a one and done experience simply to save $25 on my groceries, but I was very impressed with this service and will definitely use it again.

First step was to create an account at the Voila By Sobeys website. Most of the account setup was easy, however I some issues adding in my delivery address. I tried a few formats, but eventually used the chat function to speak to customer service and they gave me the correct address format to use.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the prices were the same as store prices including sale items. Not only are there lots of products and brands available, you can also purchase Farm Boy branded products and other items from Well.ca
Minimum delivery order size is $50, and the delivery fee is $7.99 (very reasonable). It was easy to add and remove items from my cart.

My one concern was the delivery availability, having heard stories of people having to wait more than a week to get access to pick-up orders at other stores. This was not an issue, by placing my order Friday morning my first available delivery time was early the next morning (Sat) or any time thereafter, and you chose a 1 hour delivery slot. I chose 3 pm Sat.
Once my order was submitted, I was also told I had until 7 pm that night to make any changes or additions to the order. I did log in a bit later just to confirm a couple of items.
Shortly after 2:30 on Sat I received a call from my delivery person, confirming my delivery time and checking that it was still ok, and gave me his ETA.
David arrived right on time, put the order together in his van, and then brought my groceries up to my front door, rang the bell and stood back. There were no substitutions to my order and all items were available. He was very friendly and told me that if I had any issues with any of the items, I could contact customer service for a refund.
I received all the items I had ordered and everything was in great condition, nothing crushed or wilted.
I will definitely use this process again to buy groceries, it's so easy and convenient.

Safest Way to Shop Right Now

I would highly recommend using this service, especially during the current COVID-19 issues. Ordering online was super easy. They also have lots of Farm Boy products to choose from. Delivery fee is lower than other grocery stores. Order was accurate and the products were very fresh. Delivered in a refrigerated truck and the employee was masked and gloved. Will definitely use again.

Impressed by Sobeys Voila!

I have never shopped at Sobeys, and it's been many years since I used a Grocery Delivery service. I was impressed by both! It was very easy to set up an account and shop online, the selection was pretty good (though a bit lacking in products that are dairy free), and the prices were comparable to where I normally shop. I was really impressed by the delivery times available. I was able to book a delivery slot for the next day! My order was delivered right on time, they were very professional, and even confirmed that a temperature check had been done on the cold items. The quality of the products was very good. I will definitely use this service again!

Great Service

Grocery options have been important during this pandemic, so I was excited to try the new Voila by Sobeys. Their website is easy to use, pricing is the same as in store, and the delivery fee was only $7.99. They have great delivery window options, the driver arrived and adhered to social distancing measures and made sure to tell me he had checked the temperature of my cold/frozen goods and they were all ok! The produce was fresh as it comes direct from a distribution centre and there were no substitutions with my order! I would definitely use this service again!

Amazing but a few items weren’t available

I really enjoyed the process of ordering my groceries through the Voila website. A bit of a downside for me was many of the fresh produce products and meat product I wanted to order were “unavailable”, I’m not sure what that meant but I wasn’t able to order them. HOWEVER, I’m very impressed with the delivery and how amazing my delivery driver was. I love that they do check to make sure any fragile items were not damaged and if I had any substitutions for out of stock products that I was happy with the substitutions made (I didn’t have any substitutions but I’m very happy that they checked!) Overall, incredibly happy with the service, I just wished I could have completed my whole grocery list.

Voila by Sobeys - Best online grocery service in the GTA

First, I need to disclose that I got a discount from Product Review Club to try this service. Before March 2020 and the lockdown due to COVID-19, I had never ordered my groceries online. I always assumed that it was too expensive and unnecessary. Since personal distancing began. I decided to try ordering my groceries so that I wouldn't have to go to the stores. We have tried many companies - Instacart, Metro, Cornershop,Grocery Gateway and Amazon. They each have their pluses and minuses. It depends on the stores and brands you prefer. One of the biggest challenges is getting the items I ordered without substitutions. When I heard about Voila by Sobeys and was offered the discount, I figured I would try it.
The website is easy to navigate. Lots of delivery times were available. I was also able to modify my order by the night before my delivery date. I hadn't shopped for groceries in 2 weeks so I had a long list of items I wanted. Most items were available. The only things missing were fresh blueberries and fresh cherries.
Orders are filled at a warehouse like Grocery Gateway unlike other services like Metro with their own staff in stores or Instacart and Cornershop where people do the shopping for you.
I received a phone cal 10 minutes ahead of the delivery to tell me they were on their way. The truck arrived within the chosen time. The driver was very pleasant and placed the bags of groceries on my front porch. The truck has a refrigerated section so cold and frozen items were cold and dry goods were dry. Heavy items were double bagged as were refrigerated items (steaks, orange juice). Cleaning items like lysol wipes (they had some) and anti bac hand gel were also double bagged. I bought some items in jars and they arrived in a cardboard holder with sections to protect them from breaking. There was a lot of thought put into how these groceries were packed. Very impressed! I was a cashier in a grocery store so I notice these things.
Most importantly, I got all the items that I ordered with no substitutions. This has been a problem with other services where I received a substitution of a product and I didn't like the brand provided.
The delivery fee is $7.99 per order. No additional surcharge or tip.
I was vey impressed with Voila by Sobeys. I don't think I would have known about this service or would have tried it since there aren't any Sobeys stores nearby. Now having tried it, I would say its the best service of its kind in the GTA and I will order from them in future.
