If you are okay with your nails and nail polish chipping within two days of having a manicure, then go here I guess. My daughter and I had manicures and the polish didn't last a full week (it literally peeled off, like the base coat or top coat was old). My nails are not even evenly shaped, and my daughter was upset by how much they filed her nails down. It is a waste of money, you are better off doing your own nails at home.

No stars!!! Going here was not relaxing but a form of torture!! I asked for a mani & pedi. Instead a lady who didn't speak English filed the tops (yes the tops!! Not the tips) off & hacked ALL my natural long nails off because she ASSUMED I wanted acrylics. When I complained she ignored me. I complained again & she said this was a manicure. After I complained to a older lady who said the misunderstood me so thats it. They also refused me my pedicure. I don't understand how thu got this wrong when what I wanted was written down on a gift certificate. Also when I was getting it done the lady would flick my hands back at me and was so unspeakably rude I was almost in tears. So long story short I am stuck with these uneven acrylic talons(when I asked for them to be shorter she ignored me, when I asked again she said too late) which are ridiculous as I have a baby & she left me with sore red cuticles and bruises nails.

My daughter and I went for manicures and pedicures at Professionail and they were the worst we have ever had done. The polish was chipping the next day and peeling by the third. The older female who did mine was a bit rude. It took her 20 minutes to do both. Never has anyone done both on me in only 20 minutes. When I called to complain the female to whom I spoke with was rude and wouldn't listen to my complaint. She told me that manicures and pedicures only last for 1 to 2 days. I've had them done at another salon and they lasted much longer. We will NEVER, EVER attend this salon again and are telling everyone to avoid it to. Horrible service, rude employees.

This nail salon is far from its title "professionail". My little sister who is 9, had a gift certificate for this salon. She decided to get her nails done before the first day of school and so I took her down to the location myself. Upon arriving there were many customers waiting to be looked after so I decided to ask when would be a good time for her to make an appointment or if there was room available for her that day... the woman who I believed to be the manager told us very rudely to seat down and wait, which i had no intention of doing because of the number of women waiting. So i kindly asked her again if i could make an appointment and she just told me to come back in 40minutes(when she assumed to be finished with the other customers). When I came back the line was not any shorter..this time it was a younger girl who i was speaking with and I told her it would be much easier if we could just schedule an appointment, and then the manager quickly came over and suggested we wait again. So i firmly said no, is it okay if I bring her back later on at 7.. this was finally arranged. We came back, and then waited until 730 until my sister was finally taken in. About an hour and half later my sister was finished and seemed disappointed. My sister had asked for a french manicure and instead they painted her nails pink and just added the white strip to make her happy. Her pedicure was nicely done, but her manicure was a poorly rushed job. The white strip was chipped in places so I told her I would take her back the next day to get them fixed. By the next day the polish had come off on four of her nails.. I had no time to take her back that day... the next day her nail polish "manicure" was completely gone. So after two days her polish manicure had completely been worn away. I called the salon and spoke with the manager to explain what had happened with my sisters nails... the manager told me there was nothing she could do about it. She claimed my sister's nails were painted with "kid polish" which only lasted two days... I demanded why did we pay a regular price(on a gift certificate) for a so called thing "kid polish" that would only last two days... she apologized and hung up the phone.

I went to the branch on Robson street for a pedicure and a UV gel french manicure. First off, when I called to make my appointment, I specifically told the woman who answered that I'd like UV gel done. It was my first time getting UV gel, but I had done my research. I knew that UV gel involved repeated layering of a gel substance followed by curing under a UV lamp. But when it came time to get my nails done, the nail tech started using acrylic powder - I stopped her there and told her that I had asked for UV gel and no powder is supposed to be used in the process. She and her manager both tried convincing me that this is how UV gel is done - a layer of "UV gel powder" followed by a layer of UV gel - but I knew that this isn't true. There is no such thing as "UV gel powder". They were trying to save their money by applying only one layer of UV gel as the final coat. Anyway, I didn't want to argue so went ahead with their procedure. The manager kept telling me to trust her... and that I did. The nail tech - who was a guy - did a so-so job. I had acrylic nails done previously and was looking forward to UV, but oh well, my nails still looked decent - although not as natural looking as i wanted them. The pedi, on the other hand, was quite nice.

Now the real issue began a few days later, when I noticed that the gel layer was starting to come off from the sides. I called them up and told them about it. On the phone the manager spoke pleasantly and said it would be no problem at all and that they can fix it. So off I went. When there, the male nail tech (who I found out was the manager's son) and some other female nail tech, pretty much told me that it isn't their fault, that they won't fix anything and that I should get out. All while the manager sat on the sides watching. I was furious. I had spoke to the manager and informed her that I'd be coming. I made the trip, through downtown's insane traffic, just to get my nails fixed. The techs claimed that the peeling of the nails is normal, but my 3 friends who had their nails done the same day did not have any peeling at all. The staff pretty much surrounded me, each grabbing my hands to look at my nails and then mumbling in their language. I told the nail techs that I would not leave without getting my nails fixed and that they should stand behind their workmanship and services. That was when the male tech told me to leave and that he does not need my business. I was insulted and taken aback with his rudeness. I demanded to speak to the manager. It seemed like the son nail tech was arguing with her in their language. The manager took me to their back room and told me that she's sorry, but she can't do anything because her nail techs aren't listening to her (nice excuse!). She was being nice and said that I should come again when her son is not in. Yeah right, I wasn't making another trip to this place ever. I told her how offended I was with her son's comments and that's when she got up and left the room to speak to her son. I sat there thinking..ok, so now what... when some staff woman walked in and told me that they'll fix my nails. I did end up getting my nails fixed by a burnt nail tech, who didn't say one peep the whole time. Strangely though, I heard the manager crying, but of course I had no idea what was going on as they all spoke their own language. Before i left the manager came to me and apologized about her son's behaviour and said that he doesn't realize the importance of making customers happy - hell yeah - but I was really hurt and had never been treated like that before.

In short, I would not recommend Professionail on Robson.
    - customer service is poor (the staff all speak their own language to each other and that makes you feel uncomfortable)
    - their UV gel procedure is not the true method, so you are being ripped off.
    - the staff is only nice to you if you don;t come back with complaints.

I agree with the previous reviewer. The services provided are "good enough", but the employees need to seriously rethink their customer service angle. The location is convenient and the prices competitive, but I think I'll only go here again if I can't get in somewhere else. I hate giving negative reviews, but I was really underwhelmed here.

I took my mom here to get our nails done before her trip to Jamaica. The experience was alright, though nothing special. When we first got there, I was getting a tad annoyed by some of the staff. We had made appointments about a week earlier, and specified what we had wanted. While waiting though, we had various staff members come up to us and ask us what service we were there for (this happened about 3 or 4 times). No one really seemed to communicate with each other. Also, about two girls shouted across the room at us to pick out our nail colours for our pedicures (which we weren't there for).
I got acrylic tips done, which turned out pretty good. I liked that they used white tips, in the end all they had to do was swipe clear polish over top, and I had a perfect french manicure that wouldn't chip. My mother got a french manicure done on her own nails, although some had broken and were very short, they did a good job on doing the french on all of her nails, making the shorter ones look longer.
The woman who did my nails wasn't very friendly, at salons I'm used to them being a little chit chatty, making polite conversation. I doubt I got more than two words out of her. I also wasn't a huge fan of the location of the salon. It's in a mall, which isn't the problem. It just feels like you're out in the open in the mall, with the way the salon is set up.
I was pleased with the job that was done, but I don't think I'll be making this my usual nail salon, maybe only when I'm in the area.
