I don't understand why or how Yankee Candle has seemingly gone downhill in recent years. I used to love them and always looked forward to their new releases. Sadly, that is not the case anymore. While these look like they will smell good while burning, there is usually a good deal of visible wax in the jars, which would lead one to believe the candle will have a strong "throw", these really have no "throw" at all, and even with my sensitive nose, I can stand right next to many of them while they are burning and not smell the scent. There are a few exceptions, I think there was one called Pumpkin Ginger Bark or something in the Fall of 2014 (or was it 2013? the years go by so fast when you get older!!), that one actually had an obscene amount of throw and gave me a headache, even when in the next room. But that is only like 1 out of maybe 20 candles I have tried in the last 3 or 4 years that had any "throw".
I appreciate that they do not do (what I I feel to be) the tween/teenage/childish pictures like some companies (cough*cough*bath*and*body*works*cough), and their jars are pleasant to hold in the hands and yes their snazzy candle rings/toppers and illuma lids that make pools of wax more easily attainable are all nice. But in the end if you can't detect the scent, then that is kind of a disappointment, to say the least. Unless of course you just want to burn candles for ambience. But for me, I will stick with the tarts. They are actually safer to use and I don't have to worry about soot in the air or dusting up my ceilings.
Hopefully they turn it around, they used to be one of my favorite companies. I will say though, they are by no means the only company to be putting out lack-luster candles in recent years. Not sure what is up with that, but again, I will stick with my tarts, they are safer and cleaner to use, to boot!! ;)

have a love-hate relationship with this mascara.I tried to find a waterproof drugstore mascara that would create voluminous, long and feathery lashes for quite a while. Some didn't build up to the level that I wanted, others looked spidery. I eventually decided to give this a shot when I saw that Sephora had a travel sized version available and the price was comparable to that of a slightly more expensive drugstore mascara.I'm also trying to use travel sized mascaras after I realized that I can't finish a full sized mascara in 3 months (theoretically, this is how long you should use a mascara tube). Sometimes, the mascara gets clumpy by that time anyway. It's also more cost-effective and to some extent I guess it's less wasteful and damaging to the planet.I'm happy I did so, I've had this for almost 3 months now and it's still doing great. However, I don't wear mascara every single day, more like 3-4 days a week. What I loveI love how it makes my lashes look, the wand and the texture of the mascara can create natural lashes or almost fake looking lashes if you build it up (without a spidery look if you do it carefully enough). I like the way it looks so much I gave it 4 stars despite of the drawbacks.I also appreciate that they sell a travel sized version of it.Bonus: there are clear drops on the mascara tube, as if you splashed clear polish on it and let it dry. It feels quite interesting to the touch and also looks really nice. It's not extremely hard to remove (I'm using an oil-based makeup remover). What I don't likeIt smudges. Quite badly. I read some reviews here and some people don't have this issue. I wish I didn't have it either because I love the way it makes my lashes look. :(Perhaps my lids are more on the oily side. Still, no mascara had ever done this to me. From afar, I look like I have a few brow hairs in my crease after 3 hours hours of wearing this. I don't know how else to describe it, it looks funny. :))I somewhat solved this issue by using NYX proof it mascara top coat (waterproof mascara top coat), but it changes the look of the lashes. The top coat and the mascara underneath mix together and even if I'm careful, I still end up removing some of the volume length from my lashes (sometimes more from one eye than the other, which frustrates me even further).I should mention that the fact that it smudges is not the same thing as it not being waterproof. It is waterproof, but not long-lasting.In conclusion, I am quite sad that I have to look for another mascara, again. I really love the way it makes my lashes -

WOW!! I am so in love with this highlight. I went into Sephora and swatched cookie and figured it might be a bit too light for me, but I was torn between both of the shades. I finally chose tickle because upon the swatches i liked the golden undertone. I have a light to medium skin tone and use Fenty 240. I thought it might be too pink or too gold but I can't even describe how gorgeous this looks on the skin. It isn't a bright obnoxious pink highlight and it isn't super gold either, it's just perfect. This makes your skin look healthy and glowing and the texture is buttery smooth, one of the few highlights that doesn't accentuate my texture. Also, no glitter! I hate that many highlights feel like metallic or shimmery eyeshadows that accentuate everything on the skin. I really want to try cookie now I'm so in love with this formula! I -
