I was feeling a bit munchy this afternoon, and I had one of these snack kits in my lunch box. The kit came with canned tuna prepared with light mayonnaise, a package of Ritz-like crackers, and a little plastic spatula to scoop the tuna onto the crackers.
The tuna was quite tasty, with the mayonnaise mixed well with the tuna. The texture was palatable and easy to scoop with the spatula. The crackers were fairly bland, not offering much beyond some empty carbohydrates. I could have done without them. There weren't enough crackers for the amount of tuna in the package, and I was quite generous with my heaps of tuna on each cracker. The entire package would have been better with whole grain crackers. For the amount of food in each package, the value isn't terrible, but it wouldn't be my first snack choice for this reason. Otherwise, this would be a good snack for a day in the mountains or when you're on the go and need some protein to keep you going.

I wanted to score some of the competition - Halo Top. But, it was sold out, so to satisfy my need for ice cream, I grabbed the Breyer's Delights product. It's the same concept - ice cream made with sugar alcohol and whey protein to lower sugar and calories and jacking the protein.
I liked the packaging, and I love the concept, but for $7.49 CDN, this isn't an everyday indulgence. New, novel products are always expensive, so I wasn't surprised with the price.
The ice cream was less creamy than regular, full fat ice cream, which was expected given the milk used is skim milk. The taste was decent, with a good vanilla bean flavour, but there was a noticeable aftertaste common to products made with alternative sweeteners. Even so, I ate the whole pint in less than ten minutes.
I also love that this is made with Canadian milk. Always love supporting local dairy farmers.
Would definitely try other flavours.

This is the second time that I've been to The Burger Stand in Lawrence, Kansas. I wanted to introduce my new colleague to the Canadian delight that is poutine. Last time, I have this joint's poutine 3 RCMP hats out of 5, and that rating stands. The poutine could have used a few more cheese curds, but the gravy is nice and peppery. It gives the dish a nice bit of zing. I also ordered The Barnyard but with a beef burger. It was awesome - thick slices of avocado and bacon, cheese, a few greens, and t2ne patty was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Washed it all down with a Boulevard Wheat and walked out with satisfyingly full tummy. Would definitely recommend this as a staple when visiting Lawrence. -
