Ol Roy is probably the worst dog food brand around. They are the lowest grade quality full of unhealthy corn and meat by-products. They may be inexpensive and you may save money feeding them this cheap food for now but as someone who works in vet medicine I can promise the senior onset diabetes and joint/skeleatal problems resulting from an overweight dog on this diet will cost you much more money in pain meds, blood work, doctor visits, etc than just getting something low grain or grain free! Not to mention their food was recalled this year for containing pentobarbital (a drug used for euthanasia!)... -

I love nylabone products! They are great for power chewers, are durable, last literally forever and can be cleaned with soap and water but still retain their flavor. My dogs don’t play with toys but they both will chew on a nylabone for 30+ min at a time. Have tried a bunch of flavors and they don’t seem to have a preference, they love all of them. Great way to wear them out and it definitely gets their teeth clean (sometimes their gums bleed but I only stop them once it’s excessive). Other knock off brands tend to fall apart much faster than these guys (I have had to throw one out after YEARS of wear and tear). Just make sure you get one large enough that it won’t be a choking hazard for your dog and make sure to get a power chewer version if your dog is destructive. (The company does a good job of properly labeling bone sizes based on weight class) -

As someone who works in small animal medicine I will tell you what any vet or tech will tell you: hartz products are not trustworthy and I would highly reccommend using a different brand. Especially with medicated products such as this one. There are other generics/inexpensive options out there that are much safer than these. Although they’re cheap they could cost you hundreds of dollars in an expensive emergency vet visit. There is literally a website dedicated to hartz victims, due to flea and tick products that resulted in a lot of pet fatalities years ago. -

Freeze them with peanut butter inside and it will entertain your dog for a while! I work at an animal rescue and these are one of our favorite products. They are relatively safe even for power chewers and are great for high anxiety dogs that need distraction while separated from their owners. Only downside they are hard to clean if not completely finished by the pup, toothbrush works well for scrubbing them out. -
